Su r f ace Des ign As soc i a t i on p romotes international awareness and appreciation of fibers, textiles, and new materials. Through member-supported publications, exhibitions & conferences, we inspire creativity, encourage innovation & advocate for excellence.

SDA is pleased to partner with Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, one of the premier institutions of its kind. Located on a 13-acre wooded hillside in downtown Gatlinburg at the edge of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Arrowmont offers both a secluded retreat experience and a busy tourist center. Along with annual summer and fall courses for adults from around the world, the facility provides economical housing and excellent food service for its students. Arrowmont studios and housing facilities are accessible on a campus that is considered moderate mountain terrain. A gradual walk up a short hill to most facilities is necessary. If special housing or other requirements are needed, please discuss this with the registrar at the time of registration so these needs can be accommodated.
