Foot surgery, Mr. Martí & Mr. Lorca. Hospital Clínica Benidorm

The team of podiatrists specializing in surgery of the feet has been formed by Rubén Lorca and Luis Miguel Martí putting into action a new service in the hospital

environment of the Hospital Clínica Benidorm helping to resolve their patients' most common and troubling foot problems.

The professional team of “Surgery of the feet, Martí and Lorca” are different from other podiatrists within the specialty of minimally invasive foot surgery, approaching a combination of

surgical techniques which offer great results with small incisions through the skin.

The principal advantages of the minimally invasive foot surgery carried out by Rubén Lorca and Luis Miguel Martí, are:

Minimal damage on the structures such as the skin, muscle, ligaments and tendons obtaining a rapid and PAIN FREE recuperation.

Only local anesthetic is used, allowing the patient to RETURN HOME ON FOOT, without the aid of crutches or walking sticks.

These techniques allow the patients to be provided with a DEFINITIVE SOLUTION; both aesthetically and pathologically.

The most frequent problems attended to by the service of “Surgery of the feet, Martí and Lorca” are: “Ingrown toe nail” (Ungueal Surgery); “Callus” (Interdigital Helomas); Deformities

of smaller toes (“Claw toe”, “Hammer toe”, “Mallet toe”, “Supraduction” or “Infraduction”); “Bunions” (Hallux Abducto Valgus); “Metatarsalgia”; “Calcaneal spur” and “Plantar fasciitis”.

INFO-FORUM REACHES NUMBER ONE HUNDRED This month we have reached the 100th edition of our little

newspaper. The first issue was in July, 2005, nine years ago...

How many things have happened during that time?

How many good times, how many bad?

No doubt each of these years has been different for each of us. Some will have lived with "jubilance"

(a word derived from the Spanish term "retirement).

Happy is he who has been smart enough to live well in retirement. From a psychological standpoint there seem to be some three ways of ageing.

Ist, people who refuse to recognize that they have grown old. 2nd, People ageing with anger, hatred or envy, and finally people who have been able

to adapt at all times to their age, always taking full advantage of their current situation. Here, as elsewhere, there are those three types of people. For our part we wish with

all sincerity that all our people belong to that group of happy people who enjoy every moment of their lives.

Care must be taken with the feet, especially during the summer. Tips: - Wash your feet with cold water and mild soap. - Dry well, especially between the toes, so preventing fungus growth. - After drying apply plenty of moisturiser to the sole of the foot and the heel. - Do not use sharp utensils to remove hardness as they can cause injury. - File toenails carefully. The best way is to leave them straight across. - It is advisable to walk at least a little bit every day.

A few months ago the Minister of Industry, Energy and Tourism, José Manuel Soria, announced a change in billing

receipt of electricity consumption. The new bill includes some new features that we have detailed and analysed so as to

ascertain what is going to be of benefit the consumer. With the new billing system for consumers under the

regulated tariff, The Voluntary Price For The Little Consumer also known by its acronym VPAC, only modified the method

of calculating the price of producing electricity. From now on, "consumers pay only for consumption during the billing period, the price of the electricity market," says a source from

the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism. Until now, electricity rates were governed by the auction system CESUR Energy Contract

for the Supply of Last Resort. The aim of the new is to reduce the cost of energy, improve competition and increase transparency and the choice for the consumer

when hiring electricity.

In this sense, Pascual Sala Atienza, Secretary General Unesa, Spanish Electricity Industry Association, explains that the new electricity tariff system, which came into force on 1st April,

known as TUR, Last Resort Tariff for home users, disappears. The new model is not the result of the outcome of an auction as was the CESUR. Instead, now the bill is the result of

the average electricity price in the market during a given billing period.

INTERNET SHOPPING

Increasingly online shopping is becoming more than useful for anyone purchasing products and services so it is worth reviewing how we can make a secure purchase, avoiding unnecessary scares and frights. Conducting safe online

shopping is not so difficult when we have a set of guidelines to consider and follow.

First we look at what is in the website and its reliability.

The secure checkout pages are indicated in the url as https: //, instead of the usual http: //. This will be the first visual proof that will give us a clear idea of whether or not we are on

a website that meets all the requirements of online security. The data that we supply will be adequate, the card number, our name and if it's a home delivery, our address.

We must never provide private data as the key to our credit card or any other information that may leave sensitive data discoverable. To avoid any surprises read carefully the

information about the privacy of our data and the use to be made of it.

The best thing, if we choose to make purchases online in several sites, is leaning towards online payment methods like PayPal, one of the safest

for making payments and online shopping tools. Creating your account in PayPal lets you link it to a paid account and thus you should only provide your details once.

It is a very good option and ensures that payment is secure.

Finally, read everything thoroughly before making the final payment and of course keep the receipt or proof of purchase which will allows you to verify and test the purchase.

If you follow all these steps and apply common sense, shopping online will be one of the most useful and safe choices.

We want to remember again in this Special 100th edition those people who are behind the thousands of words that have shaped our FORUM INFO in its nine years of existence.

Anyone who has ever had to translate a letter or any type of text knows the enormous difficulty involved, not only in translating the words, but also conveying the intended message, which is sometimes ironic, caustic, or even subliminal. We will not mention the names of all the people who spend many hours of their free time each month determining the meaning or the message contained in the text and then translating it into different languages .

Thanks to all of you, (let me call you friends), because without doubt those 100 editions, those nine years, have enabled those involved to convert a simple commercial sort of activity into a relationship of coexistence involving true affection, in short, in friendship so allowing us to act with complete sincerity with everyone we consider a friend. So once again "friends, thank you" for your candid collaboration and cooperation, helping us to be present in your homes at least once a month.

Seven months ago,Jorge and Simone took over our restaurant and cafeteria. With a smile they provide

in the cafetaria the sort of service you might expect in the best bars on the Costa. In the restaurant, demonstrating

a high degree of professionalism, they produce varied menus of high quality, seeking to avoid grease and other ítems which might damage health. They are always willing to listen to any

suggestions that will provide variation to meals.

Thank you Jorge and Simone for what you do.

Here's hoping that residents who have not yet experienced your services will do so soon.

SEPTEMBERARRIVES

The holiday period is over for us as well as for the children. Many of our residents have been travelling to their home

countries or to other destinations.

A major climate change occurs frequently in this area at this time, characterised by being like a second spring in advance of the one still to come. To live in this part of Spain is a real privilege, one which we should seize

and enjoy.

Together with representatives of different nationalities and members of the ludic group, we propose to provide from mid-September a comprehensive programme of activities

and trips helping us to enjoy our own surroundings. There are plenty of places worth visiting. Suggestions in this respect will be most welcome - perhaps half day,

perhaps full day excursions.

We hope our residents will participate fully in the activities and outings we will soon announce.

At the end of almost every month we face the problem of not having enough interesting or relevant ítems for our newsletter.

On many occasions we have asked for contributions, small news items or experiences that may be of general interest to residents.

We receive quite a few contributions but most are either lacking general interest or are too long. We have great writers amongst us and imaginative people who could provtde what we are looking for.

Do you possess hidden talent? Can you help? Why not have a go?
