Worth Fighting For (Evangelism) - The Bible tells us that Satan’s main purpose is to erase or steal, kill and destroy our Spiritual eyesight! He prowls around looking to devour spirituality, to break our connection or lifeline to a victorious, rich and satisfying life. A life that is only possible as we stay connected by grace through faith as Paul said in Ephesians. In this session, you will understand why evangelism is a mandatory part of the Christian walk as we battle to fight for the life of all who are unchurched.

I Am Sent Me (Evangelism) - And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” Have you ever thought, “But I am so afraid to start a conversation,” “I have non-Christian friends, and spend time with them, but I’m so afraid of ruining my friendship.” Does that describe you? This is a common fear. To address this fear, come hear how to develop a highly effective personal evangelism habit, improve your evangelism skills, and discover ways to approach various people to start an evangelism conversation.

Deeply Rooted (Leadership) - Great leaders grow deep roots. An extensive root system anchors against all storm conditions and allows nutrients to be absorbed from the soil. Roots which are invisible to the eye, are the true source of an exceptional leader’s actions. If these unseen leadership roots are sunk deep in the soil of one’s spiritual life, the results will reveal themselves as visible greatness springs forth. Knowing it’s important to cultivate your soil, we will explore the six characteristics of deeply rooted leadership: integrity, vision, concern, creativity, results-orientation, and courage.

Out Of The Boat Faith- Servant leadership is a huge step of faith. You've made huge strides as a believer, but as it relates to God taking you to places you've never been, you still find yourself in the boat of life on the sea of opportunity. "What is your boat?" Is it fear? Apprehension? Doubt? Anxiety? Sin? Complacency? Uncertainty? What hinders you from exercising "out of the boat faith" and walking into the place that God wants to take you? Well, in order for you to go somewhere that you've never been, you must do some things that you've never done. This course is tailored to encourage you to exercise "out of the boat faith" as you venture into this season of ministry.

WELCOME

Page 2 Page 11

On behalf of myself and the entire New Mount Calvary Baptist Church family, I want to welcome you to our annual Servant To Servant Church Growth Conference! My prayer is that you feel right at home by way of our warmth and hospitality for the duration of your time with us. We certainly pray that God will bless our time together, as we make a conscious effort to sharpen our tools in the area of ministry leadership.

The vision for this conference was born out of the vision that the Lord gave me for the wonderful congregation that I am afforded to serve. It is the idea of building relationships one day at a time; building relationships with one another as we build our relationship with God. You may ask the question, “Well, what does that have to do with ministry leadership?” My simple response is this, “It has EVERYTHING to do with ministry leadership!” Lee Iacocca once asked legendary

football coach Vince Lombardi what it took to make a winning team. In the book Iacocca records Lombardi’s answer:

"There are a lot of coaches with good ball clubs who know the fundamentals and have plenty of discipline but still don’t win the game. Then you come to the third ingredient: if you are going to play together as a team, you’ve got to care for one another. You’ve got to love each other. Each player has to be thinking about the next guy and saying to himself: “I have to do my job well in order that he can do his.” The difference between mediocrity and greatness is the feeling these

guys have for each other and the willingness to work together.”

Such is the case in the life of the healthy church. Leaders must take a personal responsibility to instill the biblical principle of loving God first, and then loving our neighbor as we love ourselves. This idea is synonymous; love for God and a love for others are twins that walk hand in hand. As we take seriously Jesus’ command to “Love Him as we love one another,” we are then contributing to a winning team for the sake of serving the Lord. That’s the way that the Lord

would see fit; as we love Him and love one another, we are then motivated to serve with one another.

My prayer is that we, as leaders, will lead with the heart; a heart that loves God and loves others. Our abilities and gifts are not effective if they’re not born from the sentiment of our hearts. The aim of this conference is to weigh the practical side of ministry, while getting back to the heart of the matter of ministry; God and people. If we do not have those entities working in our favor, then the purpose of ministry dissipates.

I close with an excerpt from Todd Gongwer’s book, Lead…for God’s Sake:

“This influence on others, when genuinely motivated by love, is essentially how God works through us. We are called to leadership because we are called to influence others in the right way for the right reasons. Genuinely loving those God has placed in our life’s path is the starting point of that influence. Add to that a commitment to using every ability that God has given to us to be the best that we can be, regardless of what we do or where we are, and you have a recipe for leadership success! We can accomplish everything possible in this world, win every game that we compete in, build the greatest business, or graduate with every degree imaginable, but if at the end of the day, when the chips are called in, we failed in the relationships God designed us for along the way, we never really became the best we could have been, plain and simple.”

I simply want to declare, “Lead…for God’s sake!” Grace and peace be unto you.

Blessings, Rev. Christopher C. Moore

Exceptionally Made - I'm sure we can all agree that God makes nothing by accident. So, what did God have in mind for us when He created woman? Was she an afterthought? The final word of completion in His beautiful, perfect world? Every characteristic of a woman was made to be exceptionally different from that of a man, including her skin, body structure, the wiring of her brain, and her emotional intelligence. Knowing why God created you will help you live with significance and purpose to give glory back to God.

l Pursue, Provide, Protect - Being a Godly man has never been more challenging, or necessary than it is today. Immersed in stereotypes that paint men as either weak-kneed wimps or muscle-bound brutes, the biblical view of Christ-like manhood has not fared well. Christian men who try to base their lives on biblical principles often meet tough resistance. How does the biblical picture of manhood manifest itself in the 21st century? Knowing what to pursue, provide and protect can help you address today’s tough topics. Get equipped to transform the imperfect image of manhood to the image of the perfect Man, Jesus Christ.

en The Mingling of Souls – God’s design for love between men and women is marriage. In a God-centered

marriage when two souls are mingled together with the Holy Spirit’s leading, couples can find confirmation that grace is real. Every couple has a story- a unique collection of snapshots and verses that give their marriage a special place in God’s greater design. This session will help keep the pages turning, from once upon a time to the challenging times, from initial attraction through keeping the flames of romance burning. Come find encouragement to help your marriage thrive to the level of greatness God designed it to be.

en The Masterpiece (General) - For we are God’s masterpiece. He created us anew in Christ Jesus so we

can do the good things He planned for us long ago. You’re needed in your church. You are needed in your community. You are needed in this world. If you weren’t needed, God wouldn’t have made you. He didn’t create you to just sit and sour. He brought you here to make a contribution with your life. To be in the will of God is the highest honor given us. It is really the only way to find contentment. God has a specific purpose for each of His creatures. This session will explore how to be the masterpiece God intends for us to be.

Money Matters (Financial Literacy) General – We are facing serious financial challenges, we don’t have much and we don’t know much. Nobody taught us how to manage our money in school and most people have trouble balancing their own checkbook and reading a financial statement. We use credit cards every day; yet, don’t always understand the hidden charges. A new era of proactive financial freedom must begin and it starts with following the divine biblical plan. This course will explain where do we start, how we get out of debt and how money works. Learn how to control your financial future.

Hurt, Healing, Forgiveness & Prayer (General) - The world is full of people with broken hearts, broken spirits, and broken relationships. The pain of a broken relationship includes a very real sense of personal loss, not unlike bereavement. As believers we are not to be defined by past failures, disappointment, or the rejection of others which often times can cause bitterness. But we are defined by our relationship with God. Prayer allows you to see the person and not the pain. Forgiveness helps you heal the hurt. You will learn how to take your brokenness and give your life meaning, purpose, and joy.

Young Adults (3m’S) Maximizing the Millennial Ministry - How do you reach millennials? How do

“3-D Leadership” - Leadership is more than something we do or a role we play; it is a deeply human connection that engages our mind and our emotions. Because leadership requires interdependence, the level of our connection will depend on the degree to which the people we serve can see us and trust who we are. In other words, we reveal key dimensions of ourselves that encourage others to join us as we work towards a common goal. In this particular course, we will explore how to engage in connecting to our team members beyond skills, strategies, and mental aspects, but ultimately, through transformed hearts. This, in turn, leads to a more positive culture

practical and musical aspects of worship; therefore, we often miss the most important components of platform preparation, heart prepping, prayer, studying the Word and personal worship time with God. This class will discuss those areas of preparation to better equip you to take the platform to meet God and his people.

Performance VS Worship – At times, worship leaders struggle with the right balance between presentation and performance, and making worship reverent yet engaging. You can be a great performer, but not worshipping at all. You can be worshipping wholeheartedly and be a terrible performer. One is not dependent upon the other. But EVERY time you lead worship, you are performing because without performance in its basic sense, you couldn’t render music. In this class you will discover how to let your performance bring glory and honor to God so that worship can happen freely without distractions.

Maintaining a vital Music Ministry in a Multigenerational Congregation - Church as we know it has changed over the years. The singing of hymns, and psalms has been replaced by radio music and the latest gospel hits. Maintaining a vital music ministry to balance the needs of the congregation vs the ministry leader’s personal preference can be a struggle. Corporate worship is not about personal preferences; it is about reaching the demographics of your congregation in a very intentional planned way. This class will assist the music ministry leader with planning for service with each demographic in mind, including proper song selection, integrating hymns, psalms and spiritual songs during worship services.

Standing On The Truth- You're a pastor or aspiring pastor, but you're single. This raises an issue because pastoral dating isn't exactly the same as having a relationship as a non-ministry member. As the spiritual head of a church, the pastor has to not only uphold the religious institution's moral values, but also set an example for the parishioners while still attempting to lead the church effectively. This course will take a transparent, biblical look at singleness for the preacher/pastor and give them insight on the truth about effectively leading the church as a single servant leader.

Entrusted- Pastoral ministry is no small undertaking. It requires a great deal of patience, grace, understanding, and stamina. Young preachers often start out with a lot of passion and optimism. They approach their first pastorate with the mindset that they are going to make a difference, and that they have what it takes to turn a church culture completely around, and do something that has never been done before by their predecessors. Those are honorable aspirations, but they must be tempered with reality. This course will not only grant encouragement, but insight into the major entrustment of pastoral ministry for the pastor/preacher with 5 years or less of experience.

Preaching Through The Painful- One of the realities of ministry life for the pastor/preacher is the inevitability of death. This brings about a great responsibility, but also a great opportunity for God's spokesperson to herald comforting truths from the Holy Writ to a grieving family or congregation. This course will deal with the specifics concerning funeral preaching and proper etiquette for the funeral.

Iron Sharpens Iron- Proverbs 27:17 declares, "As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend." Often, the seasoned pastor spends a great deal of time pouring into the lives of others, which even includes the younger pastor, but who pours into the seasoned pastor during this stage of his life and ministry? This course is tailored to edify the seasoned pastor in the tedious, transitional, and even tiresome moments of his ministry from a biblical perspective.
