Box 1173 New York, NY 10156 VP of Communications: Jessica Puentes, [email protected] Sophia “Redentora” Navedo, of the Alpha Tau Chapter of Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha, Inc., has received the news that she will be commissioned as an active duty ocer for the United States Army as 2 nd Lieutenant in May 2012. She recently received notification from the Army that she will be assigned to Military Intelligence. Upon graduation Navedo is to report to Ft. Huachuca in Arizona. Sophia is one of the founders of the Alpha Tau Chapter at Georgia Southern University in the spring of 2010. She believes that the support her Hermanas and family have provided her have helped her achieve this prestigious position. “I could not have done this without the support of my line sisters, family, and my second family: Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha, Inc.; especially strong, empowered women like my Membership Process Coordinator (MPC), Wendy “Amaryllis” Toribio- Torres, who is a proud Army wife and supporter; my Assistant MPC Jessica “Fanatica” Puentes, who is strong enough to make her own path, and Major Ariel “Pikaki” Batungbacal, who sets the standard for the type of ocer I want to be,” stated Navedo. Sophia “Redentora” Navedo, of the Alpha Tau Chapter of Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha, Inc., has received the news that she will be commissioned as an active duty officer for the United States Army as 2nd Lieutenant in May 2012.
