PRECAUTION BEFORE STARTING OPERATION1 Safety Precautions
1 . Whenturningthepoweron,keepyourhandsandfingersawayfromtheareaaround/undertheneedleandtheareaaroundthepulley.
2 . Thepowermustbeturnedoffwhenthemachineisnotused,orwhentheoperatorleaveshis/herseat.
3 . Thepowermustbeturnedoffbeforetiltingthemachinehead,installingorremovingthe“V”belt,adjustingthemachine,orreplacingparts.
4 . Avoidplacingfingers,hairs,obstacles,etc.nearthepulley,“V”belt,bobbinwinderwheel,ormotorwhenthemachineisinoperation.Injurycouldresult.
5 . Don’tputfingersintothethreadtake-uplevercover,around/undertheneedle,orpulleywhenthemachineisinoperation.
6 . Ifthebeltcover,thefingerguard,and/ortheeyeguardareinstalled,don’toperatethemachinewithoutthesesafetydevices.
2 Precaution before Starting Operation
1 . Ifthemachine’soilpanhasanoilsump,neveroperatethemachinewithoutfillingoilinit.
2 . Ifthemachineislubricatedbyadropoiler,neveroperatethemachinewithoutlubricating.
3 . Whenanewsewingmachineisoperated,verifytherotationaldirectionofthepulleywiththepoweron.
(Thepulleyshouldrotatecounterclockwisewhenviewedfromthepulley.)4 . Verifyvoltageand(singleorthree)phaseindicatedonthenameplateofthemotor.
3 Precaution for Operating Conditions
1 . Avoidusingthemachineatabnormallyhightemperature(35℃orhigher)orlowtemperature(5℃orlower).Otherwise,machinefailuremayresult.
2 . Avoidusingthemachineindustyconditions.3 . Avoidusingthemachineinconditionsfilledwithalotofelectricnoisessuchashigh-frequencywelders.

1 Adjustment of the needle stopping position
Theneedlestoppingpositionshouldbeadjustedwiththedetectorinstalledonthemachinehead,butthesewingmachineconnectordisconnectedfromthecontrolboxandthecoverofthedetectorremoved,asfollows.
1 . Adjustment of “UP” positionTurnthepulleyandstopitatthepositionwheretheneedlecomestothehighest.(Atthistime,thewhitemarkpointonthepulleymeetstheblackmarkpointonthearm.)Loosenthetwosetscrewsonthedetectorjoint.Turnthedetectorjointwhilefixingthepulley,andadjusttheUPpositiondetectordisc(black)totheprescribedstopposition.Tightenthetwosetscrewsonthedetectorjoint.
2 . Adjustment of “DOWN” positionTurnthepulleyandstopitatthepositionwheretheneedlecomestothelowest.Atthistime,checkthattheDOWNpositiondetectordisc(red)locatedintheprescribedstopposition.Ifnot,turnonlytheDOWNpositiondetectordisc(red),andadjustthestopposition.
Afteradjusting,reinstallthecoverofthedetector,andconnectthesewingmachineconnectorasbefore.

1 Lubrication●Pouroiluptothearrowpositionbeforestartingoperation.

Foroil,use“PulleySFoil”specifiedbyMitsubishi.※Refer PulleySFoil:Specificgravity(15℃ )=0.86(g/cm3) :Viscosity(40℃ )=18.0(mm2/s)●Whenanewsewingmachineisusedforthefirsttime,orsewingmachineleftoutofuseforconsiderablylongtimeisusedagain,replenishasuitableamountofoiltotheportionsindicatedbyarrowsintherightfigure.
2 Cleaning of motorRemovedustfromthemotorfiltereveryoneortwomonths.(Continuedoperationwiththefiltercloggedwithlintordustmayoverheatthemotor.)
3 Installation of the belt cover1 . Installthebeltcoveronthemachinesideforsafety.Refertotheprovidedinstructiondocumentcontainedinthesamepackage.
2 . Installthebeltcoveronthemotorsideforsafety.
4 Precaution on operation( 1 ) Whenthepoweristurnedonoroff,keepfootawayfromthepedal.( 2 ) Itshouldbenotedthatthebrakemaynotworkwhenthepowerisinterruptedorpowerfailureoccursduringsewingmachineoperation.
( 3 ) Sincedustinthecontrolboxmightcausemalfunctionorcontroltroubles,besuretokeepthecontrolboxcovercloseduringoperation.
( 4 ) Donotapplyamultimetertothecontrolcircuitforchecking,otherwisevoltageofmultimetermightdamagesemiconductorcomponentsinthecircuit.

2 Winding of the bobbin threadNote: When bobbin thread is wound, keep the presser foot lifted.
Adjustment ●Tension of wound thread Slackwindingisrecommendedforpolyesterthreadandnylonthread.
●Conically wound thread Movethethreadguidetowardsmallerdiameterofwoundthreadlayer.
●Amount of wound thread Loosenthewindingamountadjustmentscrewtodecreasethreadwindingamountandtightenthescrewtoincreasethreadwindingamount.
1 Installation of the needleNote: Before installing the needles, be sure to turn off the power.
1 . Forneedle,use“Mt × 190”.2 Determinethicknessoftheneedleaccordingtothicknessofthethreadused.

3 Threading of the needle threadPasstheneedlethreadintheordershowninthebelowfigure.
5 Leading out the bobbin thread( 1 ) Putthebobbinandbobbincasetogetherintothehook,asshowninthebelowfigure.
( 2 ) Pickuptheendofneedlethreadbylefthand,andturnthepulleyonerotationbyrighthand.Whentheneedlethreadispulledup,thebobbinthreadwillbedrawnoutasshowninthebelowfigure.
4 Setting of the bobbin( 1 ) Putthebobbinintothebobbincaseinthedirectionthatthebobbininthebobbincaseturnsclockwise,viewedfromthebobbinside,whenthethreadispulled.
( 2 ) Passthethreadthroughslit①ofbobbincaseandpull.
Thethreadwillbeledoutfromtheguideeye②.Note:Thebobbinshouldturninthedirection
shownbyarrowinthefigurewhenthethreadispulled.

8 Adjustment of the needle thread tensionTheneedlethreadtensioncanbeadjustedbychangingpressureofthetensiondisk,andforceandstrokeofthethreadtake-upspring.●Adjustment of the tension disk pressure1 . Inmostcases,threadtensioncanbeproperlyadjustedonlybychangingtightnessofthethreadtensionnutⒶ.
2 . Toincreasepressure,turnthenutclockwise.3 . Todecreasepressure,turnthenutcounterclockwise.
●Adjustment of the thread take-up spring forceApplyascrewdrivertothethreadtake-upspringstudandturnthestud.Thespringforceincreaseswhenthescrewdriveristurnedcounterclockwise,anddecreaseswhenturnedclockwise.Ifthestudistight,removethefaceplateandloosenthescrewoftensionregulatorslightly.●Adjustment of the thread take-up spring stroke1 . Loosenthesetscrewusedtosecurethethreadtensionregulatorslightly.
2 . Applyascrewdrivertothethreadtake-upspringstudandturnthescrewdrivercounterclockwisetoincreasethestroke.
3 . Turnthescrewdriverclockwisetodecreasethestroke.4 . Afteradjusting,besuretotightenthesetscrew. Thestandardstrokeofthreadtake-upspringisfrom6to8mm.

9 Adjustment of the thread tension releasing1 . Adjustment of the thread tension regulator setting position. Thestandardgapisabout0.7mmwhenthetensionreleasecamsalienceisincontactwiththetensionreleasepin.
Toadjust,loosenscrewⒶandchangepositionofthethreadtensionregulatorproperly.
2 . Adjustment of the tension release timingNote: Thetensionreleasetiming largelyaffectsstitching operation. If the gap between thetensiondisks is toosmall, theneedle thread isnotdrawnproperly.Onthecontrary if thegapis too large, theneedlethreadmaybereleasedearlierandbecomeloose.
Thetensionreleasecamshouldbesetsothatthetensionreleasediskscometoopenatthetimewhentheredmarkpointonthepulleycomesinlinewiththeblackmarkpointonthearm.

< Adjustment of the presser foot pressure
1 Thepressureadjustingscrewisfactory-adjustedasshownintherightfigure.
2 . LoosenthepressureadjustingscrewlocknutandturnthepressureadjustingscrewⒶ.
3 . Turnthescrewclockwisetoincreasethepressure.
4 . Turnthescrewcounterclockwisetodecreasethepressure.
Note:DonotchangesettingofscrewⒷ.If thescrew is too looseor too tight, clappingnoisemayoccurduringoperation.
A Adjustment of working height of the presser foot
1 . Height of the presser footThestandardheightofthepresserfootatitslowestpositionis1.0mmmeasuredbetweenthepresserfootbottomsurfaceandthethroatplatetopsurface(seethedetailofpart“A”).Toadjusttheheightofthepresserfoot,loosenthesetscrewⒹusedtosecurethepresserbarguidebracketandverticallymovethepresserbar.
2 . Working height of the presser footLoosenscrewⒸandadjustpositionofpresserbarliftingbracketsothatthepresserfootstartsgoingupwhentheneedlepointreaches0.5to1.0mmabovethepresserfootbottomsurface.(Whenthisadjustmentismade,theheightofthepresserfootatstopofthemachineisabout13.5mmoverthethroatplate.)Note:Thedistancebetweenthepresserbar
guidebracketandthepresserbarliftingbracketisfactory-adjustedto6.5mm.
B Relationship between the needle motion and the rotating hook motion
Thestandardadjustmentisthetipofthehookislocatedincenteroftheneedlewhentheneedlebarlifted2.2mmfromthelowestposition.Thedistancebetweenthetipofthehookandthescarfoftheneedleis0.05mmorlower.
