General informationUse the User Manual, SAP No.: 1165-216, as additional literature on the VISUCAM litefunduscamera. You must be familiar with the contents of the user manual to be able to work with theservice instructions.

The service manual mainly covers the defined spare parts and the description of how the most

important components are replaced. The replacement modules have been chosen in such a way that replacing them should bepossible without a special training. If in-depth work on the unit is necessary, you should attendthe appropriate service training.

The VISUCAM litefundus camera does not have to be installed by service staff. For this reason,no Service Report is necessary.

No fastening components are allocated to and supplied with the spare parts. For this reason, the fastening components provided in the unit must be re-used when modules are replaced.

Caution: After the unit has been opened, hazardous voltages are accessible. Take thenecessary precautions against the coming into contact with hazardous voltages and

comply with the applicable work instructions.

Cleaning Care and Servicing of the unit

Also see the Care and Maintenance chapter in the user manual. The unit requires almost no servicing. We recommend having the unit serviced once a year onthe basis of an appropriate support contract. The points listed in the "System check" chapter represent a work plan which must be completedwhen a unit is serviced.

The optical surfaces can be cleaned using an ether-methylated spirits mixture (9:1), a special

optics cleaning mixture (SM-30-8005-32) or methanol.

Test and adjustment of mechanical and electrical functions

    Testing focus drive

    Test Focus drive for +25dpt

Focus the illumination ring to the first area by moving theVISUCAM litecamera by hand. You should

see the structure off the light guide insidethe illuminated ring.

Focus with focus drive to the area with thevertical lines and expect a sharp picture atthe screen.

Note: The distance between the front area and

the back area is 40mm and it should bepossible to focus in this area.

    Test Focus drive for 25dpt

Cover front lens with dust cap.

Adjust the brightness of illumination in such a wayyou can see a picture at the screen.

Focus to the inside of the dust cap.

It should be possible to get a sharp picture.

Testing grabber function and quality of the sensors

Use the VISUCAM litein a dimmed area and switch off the room light.

Put the gray filter in between the light guide and the halogen lamp.

    Use capture mode.

Focus to the gray field of the color table.

Setup Angle 45Fluo mode, barrier and exciter filterb/w sensor

Select maximum brightness of the halogen lamp

Inspect the image on screen. No lines onlysnow or noise should be visible.

Snap the image and save it to a test patient tocompare it later time.
