Song of Solomon - Zion's New Age Bible

1 Solomon’s Song of Songs.

1a Most of the stories in this book are not about me, some do seem to relate to things that I have gone through, but this book has been added to the Bible just to help show how love between two people should be. 1b Also some things in this story do seem to point to the woman in it as being like the Bride of Christ… Suggesting that she might be a real woman.

1c I have taken lots of parts out of this book, as they just don't make sense as they are not complements nor are they not relevant to today's society. 1d But the things that I have left in this version, stand as a good example of how lovers should be and feel towards each other, even though some of the things they say doesn't make sense, it does not matter when you are in love… Being equally matched is more important!

Love poem 1

She2 Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth – for your love is more delightful than wine.3 Pleasing is the fragrance of your perfumes; your name is like perfume poured out. No wonder the young women love you!4 Take me away with you – let us hurry! Let the king bring me into his chambers.

Friends We rejoice and delight in you; we will praise your love more than wine.

SheHow right they are to adore you!5 Dark am I, yet lovely, dark like the night sky,6 Do not shrug at me because I am dark, because I am darkened by the sun. For it is what is on the inside that counts. and inside me is a bright light that shines forth.6a Is it not better to be dark on the outside yet shine a bright light from the inside, then to be white on the outside yet dark in the inside!7 Tell me, you whom I love, Tell me what lies inside of you andWhy should I be like a veiled woman beside the flocks of your friends?

He

9 I liken you, my darling, to a Great Queen among Pharaoh’s chariot horses. none can compare with you beauty and mind.10 Your cheeks look beautiful with your earrings, your neck looks amazing with your jewelry.10a I tell you this because I am letting you know that I notice these things, what you do and wear, and I love how you chose to present yourself. 10b I need you to know that I appreciate the effort that you put into it.11 We will make you earrings of gold, studded with silver.15 How beautiful you are, my darling! Oh, how beautiful! how I do love to be in your presence and know that you are mine! Your eyes are doves of peace to my heart.She16 How handsome you are, my beloved! Oh, how charming! How great it is to hear you say such nice things It's amazing to know that you really like me and that likewise, you are mine!

2 He2 Like a lily among thorns is my darling among the young women.She3 Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest is my beloved among the young men.I delight to sit in his shade, to know that he will keep me sheltered and that his fruit is sweet to my taste.4 Let him lead me to the banquet hall, and let his banner over me be love.5 Strengthen me with praises, refresh me with compliments, for I am faint with love.6 His left arm is under my head, and his right arm embraces me. Ohh do I love the ambiance of his energy an energy that no other man can match!7 Woman of the world, I charge you to:do not force love to awaken let it happen only when it so desires.

Love poem 2

8 Listen!... My beloved!

Page 3: Song of Solomon - Zion's New Age Bible

Look! Here he comes,9 My beloved is like a gazelle when he runs. Look! There he now stands behind our wall, gazing through the windows at me,10 My beloved spoke and said to me, ‘Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, come with me.11 See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone.12 Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land.13 The fig-tree forms its early fruit; the blossoming vines spread their fragrance.Arise, come, my darling; my beautiful one, come with me.’He14 My dove is in the hiding-place.show me your face, let me hear your voice;for your voice is sweet, and your personality is lovely.15 our vineyards are in bloom.She16 My beloved is mine and I am his; he browses among the lilies.17 Until the day breaks and the shadows flee, turn, my beloved, and be like a gazelleor like a young stag on the rugged hills.

Love poem 3 - Prophecy of the Bride

3 All night long on my bed I looked for the one my heart loves; I looked for him but did not find him.2 I will get up now and go about the city, through its streets and squares;I will search for the one my heart loves. So I looked for him but did not find him.3 The watchmen found me as they made their rounds in the city. ‘Have you seen the one my heart loves?’4 Scarcely had I passed them when I found the one my heart loves.I held him and would not let him go till I had brought him to the bedroom to ‘lay together’5 Now I charge you: do not arouse or awaken love

until the appointed time.

Love poem 4 - 2nd Prophecy about the Bride

She6 Who is this coming up from the wilderness like a column of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and incense?7 Look! It is Solomon’s carriage, escorted by sixty warriors, the noblest of Israel,8 all of them wearing the sword, all experienced in battle, each with his sword at his side, prepared for the terrors of the night.9 King Solomon made for himself the carriage;10 Its posts are made of silver, its base of gold. Its seat was upholstered with purple, its interior inlaid with love.11 Come out and look, Zion.Look, the King is wearing a crown, the crown his mother wants him to wearon the day of his wedding, the day his heart will rejoice.

4 HeHow beautiful you are, my darling! Oh, how beautiful! Your eyes behind your veil are doves. Your hair looks amazing and smells great!2 Your teeth sparkle when you smile, and I wish to make you to smile all day long! or to see your friends and family make you smile,as your happiness means more to me then anything in the world!2a Each person is meant to have their own twin; a soul mate, so that no one is alone, For humans were not made to be alone! You are my twin, my soul mate and equal!3 Your lips are like a scarlet ribbon;and I so love touching your lips against my own! your mouth is lovely, but not as muchas the words that come out of them, for I could listen to you talk all night long.3a It's amazing to hear your opinions, for I value the things that you say.3b Even when we do not agree, you open my eyes to a new perspective

Page 5: Song of Solomon - Zion's New Age Bible

a view that I had not considered before.

She3c This is how lovers should be, respecting each other's differencesenjoying each others company.3d working together to form a single unit. And likewise I will listen, respect, and be open minded all that you have to say.you are the love of my life and no other can compare!

He7 You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you.But the enjoyment I get when being with you, getting to know you, seeing you happy far outweighs what looks alone can bring!8 Come with me, my bride,Descend from the crest of the lions’ dens and the mountain haunts of leopards.9 You have stolen my heart, my sister, my bride; you have stolen my heartwith one glance of your eyes, and with the first conversation we shared10 I saw how delightful is your love, my sister, my bride! How much more pleasing is your love after we started to make a strong connection and see the similarities that we have.10a The funny habits that you have, and enjoyable memory that we share makes my life worth living and fills me with joy11 Your lips drop sweetness as the honeycomb, my bride; for I love the way that you talk, and the things that you say12 You are a garden locked up, my sister, my bride; you are a spring, like fountain ready to be released, 13 Your treasures are like fruits on a tree;14 pomegranates, saffron, calamus and cinnamon, and with every kind of incense tree.15 You are a garden fountain, a well of flowing water streaming down from Zion.

She16 Awake, north wind, and come, south wind!Blow on my garden, that its fragrance may spread everywhere.Let my beloved come into his garden and taste its choice fruits. He

Page 6: Song of Solomon - Zion's New Age Bible

5 I have come into my garden, my sister, my bride; I have gathered my myrrh with my spice.I have eaten my honeycomb and my honey; I have drunk my wine and my milk.

Love poem 5 - Prophecy about the Brides dilution about meeting the groom

She2 I slept but my heart was awake. Listen! My beloved is knocking:‘Open to me, my sister, my darling, my dove, my flawless one.My head is drenched with dew, my hair with the dampness of the night.’3 I have taken off my robe – must I put it on again For I can not go to the door naked? I have washed my feet – I don't want to get them dirty again, so I will put on my shoes?4 My beloved thrust his hand through the latch-opening; my heart began to pound for him.5 I arose to open for my beloved, and my hands gripped on to the handles of the bolt.6 I opened for my beloved, but my beloved had left; he was gone. My heart sank at his departure.or perhaps he was just never there at all!I looked for him but did not find him. I called him but he did not answer.7 The watchmen found me as they made their rounds in the city. They beat me, they bruised me; they took away my cloak, those watchmen of the walls!8 Israel says, I charge you – if you find my beloved, tell him I am faint with love.

Love poem 6 - And advise on what to look for in a mate

Friends9 How is your beloved better than others, most beautiful of women? How is your beloved better than others, that you so charge us?

Page 7: Song of Solomon - Zion's New Age Bible

She10 My beloved is radiant and ruddy, outstanding among ten thousand.11 His head is purest gold; his hair is wavy and black as a raven.12 His eyes are like doves that fill me with peace But it's not about his looks, the strength he has or the clothes he wears.12a It's not about the wealth he has or things he ownsOff course owning a property, and being able to provide for me and kids is a good thing.12b There's so much more that needs to be put into consideration. It's about how he makes me feel inside when I’m with him.how me treats me when he's around me, does he listen to what I say, does he respect my beliefs12c Does he care about my well being and happiness Do we share interest and appinions? Can he give my life more meaning? and likewise am I what he wants. Are we good together and can we really make it last!

12d It's the connection we share and the intellectual match that we havethat makes him and no other the perfect guy for me!12e We may not both be; smart, positive, work hard or good at dancing,we may not both love to; sing, drive cars, do gardening…but when we are together we fit and everything just feels like we were meant to be! That’s why I love him so.

Love poem 7

Friends

6 Where has your beloved gone, most beautiful of women?Which way did your beloved turn, that we may look for him with you?She2 My beloved has gone down to his garden, to the beds of spices,to browse in the gardens and to gather lilies.3 I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine; he browses among the lilies.He4 You are as beautiful, my darling, 5 Turn your eyes from me; they overwhelm me.8 Sixty queens there may be, and virgins beyond number;

Page 8: Song of Solomon - Zion's New Age Bible

9 but my dove, my perfect one, is unique, the only daughter of her mother, the favourite of the one who bore her.The young women saw her and called her blessed; the queens praised her.Friends10 Who is this that appears like the dawn, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, majestic as the stars in procession?He11 I went down to the grove of nut trees to look at the new growth in the valley,to see if the vines had budded or the pomegranates were in bloom.12 Before I realised it, my desire set me among the royal chariots of my people.

A list of the Old Bibles worst chatup line! - What not to say to attract a woman!

12a I do have to say that there are a lot more bad chat up lines in the old version of this book but I've taken them out but then next chapter is all ridiculous so I have left it in, just to show an example of bad chat up lines.

He

7 Your graceful legs are like jewels, the work of an artist’s hands.2 Your navel is a rounded goblet that never lacks blended wine.Your waist is a mound of wheat encircled by lilies.3 Your breasts are like two fawns, like twin fawns of a gazelle.4 Your neck is like an ivory tower.Your eyes are the pools of Heshbon by the gate of Bath Rabbim.Your nose is like the tower of Lebanon looking towards Damascus.5 Your head crowns you like Mount Carmel. Your hair is like royal tapestry; the king is held captive by its tresses.6 How beautiful you are and how pleasing, my love, with your delights!7 Your stature is like that of the palm, and your breasts like clusters of fruit.8 I said, ‘I will climb the palm tree; I will take hold of its fruit.’May your breasts be like clusters of grapes on the vine,

Page 9: Song of Solomon - Zion's New Age Bible

the fragrance of your breath like apples,9 and your mouth like the best wine.SheMay the wine has gone straight to my beloved,

Love poem 8

10 I belong to my beloved, and his desire is for me.11 Come, my beloved, let us go to the countryside, let us spend the night in the villages.12 Let us go early to the vineyards to see if the vines have budded,if their blossoms have opened, and if the pomegranates are in bloom – there I will give my love to you.

18 I would kiss you, and no one would despise me.2 I would lead you and bring you to my mother’s house – she who has taught me.3 His left arm is under my head and his right arm embraces me.4 People, I charge you: do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires.Friends5 Who is this coming up from the wilderness leaning on her beloved?SheUnder the apple tree I roused you; there your mother conceived you, there she who was in labour gave you birth.6 Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm;for love is as strong as death, its jealousy as terrible as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame.7 If one were to give all their wealth for love, then there wealth will lie in the strength of that love.7a If that love brings you joy and love in return then it is not wealth waisted!7b For as much as you might love your wealth your money, your jewelry or your possessions...

Page 10: Song of Solomon - Zion's New Age Bible

that wealth can never love you back!7c But if your wealth lies in a partner, friends, family... Then a return of this type of wealth is achievable if earned!7dIt is better to live with little amount of money and lots friends and relations, than for a person to live with a little amount of friends and relations but lots of money, for money can not love you back!
