SUPERIOR FLUX HISTORYSuperior Flux, founded in Cleveland in 1932 by William Ulmer, has a long history ofproviding more efficient, safer and Environmentally friendly fluxes for soldering,brazing, and welding.

1941. US Patent No. 2,357,014 was submitted for the first potassium bifluoridefree silver brazing flux and awarded to Bill Ulmer in 1944. Superior No. 6 is stillbeing used today!

1949. Superior Flux introduces Battelle formula Superior Supersafe No. 30,the OA, VOC-Free, water-soluble flux that predates the Montreal Protocol by 47years. Called The Blue Flux by many.

1982. Superior Flux introduces No. 612 Hi-Temp flux, the forerunner of fluxesfor mining and construction tools, snowplow blades and other carbideapplications.

1994. Superior introduces ZC-Free fluxes to replace zinc chloride from wastewaters and remove heavy metal from soldering process.

1995. Superior introduces SyberGel Flux and Cleaner to electronics market.Removes solvent cleaning from electronics post-solder process.

2001. Superior Flux introduces first Fluoride Free Fluxes onto market. Brazingcan now be Cadmium Free andFluoride Free.

FB3-K SPECIFICATIONA6.14 FB3-K is a liquid flux used almost

exclusively in TORCH* brazing. The fuelgas is passed through the container of

liquid flux entraining flux in the fuel gas.The flux is applied by the flame whereneeded on base metals such as carbonsteels, low alloy steels, cast iron, copper

and copper alloys, nickel and nickelalloys, and precious metals. The fluxconsists primarily of liquid borates.

being delivered to the joint.Flame is green due to the fluxs boron

activator being delivered into the gas-lines. Boron imparts a green-color to the

flame.A blue flame indicates no flux is present.
