Spring 2018 PROGRAMS starting 1/23/18 Islamic Literacy Study Circle A discussion based circle designed to establish Islamic Literacy for undergraduate Muslim Americans. This is a study circle in which a new topic is presented and discussed each week that aims to increase the participants’ literacy of the Islam, Muslims, and their de- velopment. Held at the Center for Islamic Life at Rutgers University (60 Sicard St. New Brunswick NJ 08901). Wednesdays at 8pm Seerah A weekly halaqah (learning circle) that focuses on the story of the life of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Each week, more of his life is discussed and lessons from the events analyzed. Held at CILRU (60 Sicard St. New Brunswick NJ 08901). Thursdays 5pm Understanding Dhikr A discussion halaqah (lea A discussion halaqah (learning circle) in which the focus is on strengthening the under- standing and engagement of the spiritual practices within Islam (including Salah, recita- tion, dhikr, meditation, etc). Held at CILRU. Tuesdays at 8pm Chaplain Chats A weekly gathering hosted by Chaplain Kaiser after Jummah (Friday Prayer) to discuss current events (whether they be at Rutgers related, or Global in scope), personal experi- ences, questions related to Islam and the Muslim community, or really anything else that might be of interest. Every Friday after Jummah Prayer, typically held in Cooper Dining Hall on the Douglas Campus at 1:20pm. Interested in any of these or other topics?
