Congregated Elementary Gifted Program
The Toronto Catholic District School Board offers Full Time/Congregated Elementary Gifted Programs for students in Grades 6 to 8 who have an exceptionality of Giftedness. These pro-grams are integrated into the regular school community. Important aspects of the program are curriculum extensions in depth, breadth and pace, daily continuity of programming, collabo-ration with like-minded peers and leadership opportunities. A Parent Information evening will be held for parents/guardians interested in exploring a full time elementary Gifted Program for their child with the exceptionality of Giftedness.
The Parent Information evening will take place at St. Edward School, 1 Botham Rd., on November 23, 2017 at 7:00 pm.

The Scholastic Book Fair is com-ing to our school! What better way to promote reading to our stu-dents than by supporting this important literary event? We invite your entire family to partici-pate by purchasing the latest and greatest in children’s books. Your support of this vital liter-ary event is a key part of helping us obtain new books and resources for our library. Dates: November 13 – 17, 2018 Classes will be visiting the library during school hours and parents will be invited during the in-terview times.

Halloween Candy
Wanted
Hey there! Hope you had a great Halloween! This year St Cecilia is collecting unwanted candies and donating it to children in need! This is no joke – starving kids around the world have difficulty eating when presented with food aid. They need sugar to stimulate their appetite, and you can give them that by donating your unwanted candy! The candy and chocolate will be donated to the organiza-tion Canadian Food For Children, run by Dr. Andrew Simo-ne, a doctor in Toronto. Go to his website at: http://www.canadianfoodforchildren.net/
By this coming Monday, bring in your candy to the box outside the office. Thank you!
GET YOUR “ROAR” ON! St Cecilia Sportswear Collection has arrived!
Many of you have been asking when school uniform-approved T-shirts will be available again…THEY’RE BACK!!
And, this year, thanks to the amazing and generous design work of one of our parents, Liesbeth Teerink, we have given our beloved tiger a facelift and added new items for purchase: long sleeved T-shirts, hoodie, pant and toque (see attached flyer for pics and pricing)!
WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
This is a CSPC (St Cecilia Parent Council) fundraiser.
By making these items available, we aim to facilitate school spirit and offer an easy option for uniform-approved items. All profits from this fundraiser directly support everything we do, including: augment student programming; beautify our grounds; support graduation and sacramental events; equip sports teams; support clubs and provide for staff classroom needs.
HOW CAN YOU PURCHASE?
All of the items in the St. Cecilia uniform-approved Sportswear Collection will be available for online purchase via our community partner, Tiny Trendsetter, a local children’s clothing shop.
The co-owner, Sonia Sultana (also a St Cecilia parent), has graciously offered to host the collection on her website where everyone can easily see pictures, full product details (including sizing) and make purchases.
