Saint Gabriel the Archangel Saddle River
God says to Moses, “This is what you shall tell the Isra-elites: I AM sent me to you . . . The LORD, the God of your [ancestors], the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob.” As Jesus would later say, God is not a God of the dead, but of the living, and so we believe that the dead will one day rise. At this midpoint of Lent, we pause to consider how our re-pentance is leading us to the Resurrection, to our reunion with the great “I AM.” Part of our repentance involves working to secure justice for all and helping our neighbor to live in God’s ways. We encourage each other and nurture each other, like the compassionate gardener of today’s Gospel, who tells the owner of the orchard that he will nurture the tree, fertilize it, and per-haps it will bear fruit. Peace, Fr. Frank

Plot Summary: Risking his life, Luke ventures to Rome to visit Paul -- the apostle who's bound in chains and held captive in Nero's darkest and bleakest pris-on cell, Mamertine Prison, because he has been deemed a threat to the Roman Empire. At Mamertine, he interacts with his jailer Mauritius and Luke the evangelist. Mauritius is curious about Paul and seeks to learn how this one man can have such a profound effect on the empire. Luke, a dutiful caretaker, takes this opportunity to write the Acts of the Apostles, a history of the early Church. Haunted by the shadows of his past misdeeds, Paul wonders if he's been forgotten as he awaits his grisly execution. Much of Paul’s story is told in flashbacks while he is in prison.1 hr. 48 mins. Cast: Jim Caviezel, James Faulkner, Olivier Martinez, Joanne Whalley, John Lynch, Yorgos Karamihos, Antonia Campbell-Hughes, Alessandro Sperduti

BISHOP BARRON Word on Fire
UNTOLD BLESSING Three Paths to Holiness
Our ultimate goal is to be a saint. It is our greatest calling and what is desired for us by our Creator. BUT HOW DO WE BE-COME A SAINT? Come join us this Lenten Season to see firsthand how Bishop Robert Barron paints a beautiful and mysterious image of what it takes to be a follower of Jesus Christ on this road to sainthood. He lays out three intriguing paths to holiness as well as shares practical approaches to enhance the journey along these three paths:
Finding the center Knowing you’re a sinner
Realizing your life in not about you

and your generosity for which we sincerely thank you.
The following is a list receiving checks: Birthright
Brady’s Smile Family Promise Good Counsel
Several Sources Shelter Paramus Veterans Home
Sisters of Life St. Luke’s Education Fund
Catholic Charities Villa Marie Claire
I would also like to extend a hand to anyone interested in joining the Knights. We always need new members to continue our good work. I can be reached at (201) 315-4608.
Dear Parishioners of St. Gabriel’s,
Thanks so much to all of you and the Respect Life Ministry for your generosity to Birthright of Bergen County. We received your donation of baby clothing, baby care items and diapers and we thank you for your continued support of Birthright. You gen-erosity helps Birthright to continue the care we have been provid-ing for pregnant women , their unborn babies and families in Ber-gen County for over forty years. We are here to support and aid young women in crisis pregnancy to choose Life for the children. Your gifts make this possible. We receive hundreds of calls and visits every year for assistance and referrals. Your gifts of pray-ers and baby care items allow us to continue working on behalf of God’s miracle of life. The women and babies of Birthright thank you for your generosity! Wishing you many blessings during this Lenten season. Mary Pat Phillips & Barbara Boe, Co-Directors.
