INSIDE THE 815... Dear All, It is good to be back on this page. It has been a long while since I have shared with you some of my personal thoughts. As I return to this page, hopefully, with a little more consistency, I try to think of a great way to segue back. A couple of top-ics come to my mind. However, as I really look into this, I realize that this weekend is a perfect weekend for me to reintroduce myself to this column because of what this coming week brings about—thanksgiving. I believe that the best topic to talk about is simply to express my deepest grati-tude to all of you. There is so much to be thankful for as the year 2017 passes by in front of us. Indeed, as I look back at this year, I realize that the only way I was able to move forward, the only way that this community is able to move forward, is due to the fact that all of you were there to push our church forward. I am deeply, deeply grateful to all of you who never stopped giving us your support—whether they be of prayers, encouragement, moral or financial. Your will-ingness to give of yourself is something that has truly been embedded in the depths of my heart. Thank you! I am also thankful to all of those who rendered to us their time, talents, and a lot of themselves by being volunteers in our community. Thank you to those who have worked and assisted us behind the scenes. I am grateful for our liturgical min-isters, our social ministers, our administrative help, those who come to our office during the week, and those who come to church on Saturday mornings. I am grate-ful to our Pastoral Council, our Finance Council, and our Implementation Teams. To all of you, thank you, thank you very much! I am most especially grateful for my staff for their dedication and commitment to helping me ensure that we have a community where all are always welcome. This week, as we celebrate Thanksgiving Day, let us always be reminded of what it stands for. While it is a good day to reunite with family and friends, it is more importantly a time to acknowledge that we have someone over us who never fails to give us what we need according to His will. All the blessings that we have come from Him. May that be the spirit that will lead us as we celebrate this great day on Thursday. I wish y’all a Blessed Thanksgiving. May our Lord grant those who will travel a safe trip. Let us always remember that the best way to express our Thanksgiving to God is through the Eucharist, which means ’thanksgiving.’ God bless us all. - Fr. Eric
