WHO COMES TO ADULT RCIA? Some of the most common reasons people attend are as follows: A personal call to join the Catholic Church,
whether baptized in the Catholic Church, in another church, or never baptized.
A spouse of a member of the Catholic Church who desires to create harmony in the family by becoming a Catholic.
Someone who is planning marriage to a Catholic, and is considering joining the Catholic Church to bring unity to the marriage.
An individual who is baptized a Catholic, but has not received the Sacraments of Holy Eucharist or Confirmation; or who has stopped practicing the Catholic Faith and wishes to begin again.
If you fall into any of these categories, please take the time to give RCIA some serious consideration. We started Adult RCIA Classes (over 18 years old) in Eng-lish and Spanish. Please contact Carlo Zeffiro at 630-832-5514 or by email at [email protected] if you are interested or need more information.

Although classes have begun we will continue to take registrations for the 2015-2016 Faith Formation school year for one more week. Please encourage friends and family who have not registered their children in the program to do so this week. Sacrament prepara-tion is a two year process which is why we encourage all families with children entering 1st grade to regis-ter now so that they can make their First Holy Com-munion with their peers in May, 2017. Students new to the program will need a baptismal certificate at the time of registration. Information and registration can be done during the Faith Formation office hours Tues-day through Saturday.
W e are still looking for a Music Director to teach songs to our children. We also need a Fundraising Coordinator to help us make the most out of our fund-
raising efforts. Please consider if you have something to offer our students. Please call, email or visit the Faith Formation office with the information below. Thank you for your support. St. John the Apostle in Villa Park is hosting a Renew Your Faith sessions on Mondays through the year. It is a video based series of presentations and discussions for adults on the richness of our Catholic faith. The vid-eo presentations are in English with Spanish subtitles.

Stewardship Thought for the Week Today’s reading from the Book of Wisdom foreshad-ows Christ’s suffering and death, as Jesus describes to His disciples in St. Mark’s Gospel. The Scripture passages from St. James and St. Mark caution against false ambition and seeking rank while ap-pearing to serve the Lord. These attitudes lead to divisions among disciples. Jesus teaches us that true discipleship requires the first to be last and servants to all. As Christian stewards, what is our motivation for serving the Lord?
