    Stewardship thru 4-10-17 $738,878.00

This man God raised on the third day and granted that

he be visible, not to all the people, but to us, the

witnesses chosen by God in advance, who ate and drank

The first disciples were people who witnessed the risen Christ

in the flesh. The author of Acts emphasizes that they ate and

drank with the risen Christ. How we take care of each other

“in this life” is an important part of our spiritual life.

Stewardship is not about having pious thoughts, but about

making life better for others in the flesh.

    Acts 10:34, 37-43 Psalm 118:1-2, 16-17, 22-23 •

    Colossians 3:1-4 • John 20:1-9

. . . and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

When Christ your life appears, then you too will

appear with him in glory. Colossians 3:3-4

Faced with an important decision, I try to figure out what

God is asking of me. When a dilemna seems to be without

a solution, I wonder how it will all end. The experience of

any loss sets me on a search for meaning - usually with

    mixed results.

I know Christians are not the only ones to confront

life’s mysteries. We are all mysteries to ourselves, a

complex array of motives, desires, hopes and fears. Science

no sooner solves one question than several more pop up in

    its place.

But hidden with Christ in God, we are drawn onward

by grace - yet another mystery. Our lives, including much

of the good we do, are indeed hidden, just as Jesus was in

the tomb before the glory of Easter morning. And that’s

    what we look forward to.

Lord, grant me trust in you as I face the unknown. Mark Neilsen, Living Faith, Mark Neilsen, Editor
