'The Shining Light of Emmanuel' The Nativity of the Lord (Christmas)

...he spoke to us through a son... who is the refulgence of his glory, the very imprint of his being... - Hebrews 1:3 Happy birthday, Emmanuel! On this feast, the Nativity of the Lord, you are described as the very imprint of God's being. To imprint is to mark by pressing, as in a kiss of tenderness; to fix in the memory; to make an impression. From all eternity, you, the Holy One, are the Word who is God and speaks of God. From the beginning, you have been imprinted with the very essence of God. That essence is the refulgence of God's glory, the fullness of light that you reflect in our world. You shine the light of divine tenderness on all that is broken, all that hopes for forgiveness, all that longs for acceptance, all that yearns to belong. Today, we celebrate and give thanks for your presence among us. O, God-with-us, may your light overcome the darkness!

Pastor’s 2018 Christmas Message To: Parishioners of St. Mary’s Catholic Church Camden and

Holy Family Mission Church Huntingdon, Tennessee

God is good! All the time! My beloved people, I thank the Almighty God for giving us another

opportunity to celebrate this year the greatest mystery of all time – the

“Incarnation.” In our unworthiness, God the Father sent his Son to

save the fallen humanity. This happened when the WORD took

FLESH in the womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary and then dwelt

among us. This is a message of hope, love, peace and joy. To God

be the glory – Amen!

Christmas is a time to express our thanks and gratitude to God

Almighty for his love, blessings and favors to us as individuals, as a

family, as a community and as God’s children. It is a time to share all

our blessings and God’s love with the less privileged of our society.

Christmas is a time to put smiles on people’s face. I am glad we did

just like that through our donations in the form of time, talent and

treasure. Thanks for your generosity.

On behalf of the Guardian Angels Motherless Babies (GAMB) Home, I thank Mrs. Leah Koonce and

her Holy Family Group that made some clothes for the Orphanage babies. May God bless each of

you for remembering such less privileged babies.

To my loving Parishioners of St. Mary’s Camden and Holy Family Huntingdon, the Knights of

Columbus, Ladies Guild of St. Mary’s, Families, Individuals, Parish Staff, Volunteers, PRE and RCIA

teachers and members, Parish friends and Well-wishers, various Groups, mentioned and unmentioned, I

say a hearty “THANK YOU” for your Christmas Gifts, Prayers and Good Wishes. I am very proud of

each of you for your love and generosity.

Finally, I know I am human and imperfect, so I humbly apologize to whomsoever I have offended,

directly or indirectly. I am very sorry. I have forgiven anyone who has offended me. I wish you all a

Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year. Remain ever blessed.

Sincerely yours in Jesus and Mary,

Rev. Fr. Herbert Ene (Pastor)
