On Wednesday March 26 Ed Szumski and Michel Heroux made a presentation to the Class of 2014 about theStreetsboro Alumni Association scholarship availability There are five scholarships to be awarded this year Theaward recipients names will be announced at The SeniorAwards Night on Thursday May 15 from 500 pm until900 pm In the high school gymnasium The StreetsboroAlumni Association will award our scholarship checks atour annual meeting on Saturday June 28 2014 starting at600 pm Our annual meeting will be held in the cafeteriain Defer School Invitations will go out to alumniassociation members around the middle of May Cost willbe $1500 per person for the dinner For more informatione-mail me ProfessorEd68gmailcom or go to the Contactlink on our website wwwstreetsboroalumniorg

MEMBERSHIP INFORMATIONMEMBERSHIP -- Membership in this organization shallconsist of any graduates of Streetsboro High School andStreetsboro students graduating from other high schoolswhen there was no high school in Streetsboro StreetsboroHigh School students may become associate members of theAssociation upon the payment of dues or commitment toservice upon one or more standing committees of theAssociation Teachers and administrators of StreetsboroSchools may become associate members of the Associationupon the payment of dues Citizens of Streetsboro maybecome associate members of the Association upon thepayment of dues Associate members may attend openmeetings and take part in discussion but shall not votemake motions or hold office

DUES - Annual dues for Streetsboro High School graduateswill be $500 and a Lifetime Membership is $2500 Lifetimemembership dues are waived for any graduates ofStreetsboro High School and students graduating from otherhigh schools when there was no high school in Streetsboroprior to 1964 Annual dues for Streetsboro High Schoolstudents (associate membership) will be $100 providedhowever that the Association will waive said fee in each yearthe associate member serves upon one or more standingcommittees of the Association Our fiscal year is from July 1st

to June 30th

Jane L (Burroughs) Reynolds 96 of Streetsboro passed away on Saturday April 12 2014 after

a brief illness Jane was born in the home on her family farm in Streetsboro on July 7 1917

The farm stretched back four generations and she was the youngest daughter of Fred and Alice

Burroughs Growing up on the farm her love for it continued throughout her adult life and in

1978 she and her late husband Royal O Reynolds moved back and passionately renovated the

house and the out buildings and eagerly continued the maple syrup production and modest

farming She loved the land and the familys deep history and never tired of sharing stories of

her great grandfathers walk from New Hampshire in 1816 to settle in the new state of Ohio

She was preceded in death by her sister Ardis Moyer and her two brothers W illis K and Dan

She is survived by two daughters Deborah (Edward) Tywon of Alexander City Alabama and

Claudia (Donald) Mathias of Andover Massachusetts She had seven grandchildren Cathy

(Tim) Bennett Robert (Kim) Sponseller Mary (W ayne) Gauer Mark Sponseller Dan (Melinda)

Sponseller Donald Mathias Gretchen (Craig) Toney seven great grandchildren two step-great

grandchildren and two step- great great grandchildren

Jane was the oldest mem ber of the Streetsboro Alumni Association an alumni of the Class of 1935 She hosted the

2008 Streetsboro Alumni Association annual meeting in her farmhouse home The picture on the far left below was taken

in her kitchen with Ricki J (Poole) Graeser Middle picture below was taken at our annual meeting in 2012 taken in the

high school cafeteria Picture below right shows Jane picking a ticket for the ldquoTrdquo shirt door prize with the help of Mike
