Reading Read your home reader and design a new front cover and blurb for your book.

Writing Write a set of instructions for making the most disgusting sandwich in the world. You must include: *Title *Opening *List of what is needed *Numbered or bullet point instructions *Time connectives e.g. first, after that, secondly *Imperative verbs (bossy verbs) e.g. hold, mix, chop, slice, sprinkle, spread, place. Used at the beginning of the sentence these words create a command. *A labelled diagram (picture)

Writing ‘Busy picture’ Expanded noun phrases and subordinating conjunctions Look at the image and write 10 sentences using an expanded noun phrase and subordinating conjunction in each. i.e. ‘The small brown bird sat on the farmers straw hat while looking out of the window.’ Challenge – Can you start your sentences with a subordinating conjunction?

Look at the image, use your inference skills to answer the questions given.

Writing ‘After Work’ Adverbial phrases Adverbial phrases are words and phrases that describe the action that follows. Write 10 sentences about the ‘After Work’ image that include an adverbial phase. Vary the position of your phrase in each sentence i.e. That night, Batman reflected on his actions and questioned himself.

Writing ‘Busy picture’ Prepositional phrases Look at the image and write 10 sentences which include a prepositional phrase. i.e. ‘With one quick squeeze, the sun cream flew into the air.’ Challenge – Can you vary the position of your prepositional phrase?

Include information such as DOB, Place of birth, family, important life events, interesting facts, impact on life today. Topic Geography – Where in the World? Pick a country you would like to find out more about. Research the country using the search engine below https://swiggle.org.uk/ Create an information leaflet about the country you have chosen. Include the physical and human characteristics of the country, it’s location in regards to the hemispheres and equator, any traditions and some interesting facts.

Writing ‘Patience’ Using your ideas from yesterday write your own story linked to the image. Think about the key events in your story the opening, build up, dilemma, resolution and ending. Use a range of grammar including expanded noun phrases, relative clauses, connecting adverbs, fronted adverbials and a range of sentence openers.
