POST GRADUATE PROGRAMME IN MANAGEMENT (PGP) 2015-2017

Summer Internships Recruitment Process at IIM BangaloreThe Post Graduate Programme (PGP) curriculum at IIM Bangalore requires all students to undertake a summer project for a minimum duration of 8 weeks on completing their first year course work. Students with more than 34 months of prior work experience have the option of opting out of the Summer Internship Placement Process (SIPP) by formally signing out of the process. Successful completion of the Summer Internship is an essential requirement for graduation from the PGP Programme at IIM Bangalore.

The Summer Internship recruitment process at the Institute is coordinated by Career Development Services Office along with a Student Placement Committee. The Institute provides all support in terms of infrastructure and facilities needed for the recruitment process.

Pre-Placement Talks (PPTs)PPTs provide an opportunity to students and companies to interact and exchange information. A PPT is typically of 45 minutes duration during which company representatives talk about their organization. The students use this time to assess the organization and internship opportunities. A Q&A session also forms part of the PPT.

Students ApplicationsBased on the company presentation and their individual interest levels, students apply to companies. These can be on company application forms or resumes as per company requirements. The applications are forwarded to the company within a specified time frame. The companies are provided sufficient time to evaluate the applications and shortlist suitable candidates.

ShortlistsCompanies are required to send shortlists to the CDS Office at least one week prior to the commencement of Summer Internships Placement Interviews. When the companies visit

Student Career Support FeeWe encourage organizations to make Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) to the student at the end of Summer Internship process. When the PPOs is accepted by the student as his/her final placement offer and the student joins the organization, a recruitment fee, as detailed below, will be charged to the concerned organisation:

the campus, they can interview the shortlisted candidates and extend internship offers to selected ones.

Interview and Offer LettersCompanies can make summer internship offers after the interviews. A formal offer letter must be sent to the CDS office within a week of the interview date.

Summer Internships DatesSummer Internship recruitment dates - 31st October 2015 - 6th November 2015

For the academic year 2015-16 the students will be interning with companies between March 20th 2016 to May 31st 2016 for a duration of 8 weeks.

Summer Internship Evaluation Report (SIER)Since the internship is a part of PGP Curriculum the company is required to provide student evaluation and feedback on a presribed form provided by IIMB. Completed form should reach the CDS office by the prescribed deadline.
