More than 100 members of Class ’57 wi l l again march to receive their diplomas on Feb. 10, 2007, as they reenact their high school graduat ion r i tes at INHS Ground.

Mr. Mario Mallorca Celo offi cially succeeded retired principal Dr. Riza S. Amaguin last August 2006.

Celo hails from Calinog, Iloilo and is married to Dr. Evangeline B. Celo. The new principal, who has earned 30 units in Doctor of Philosophy in Education from the University of San Agustin, was Dingle National High School’s principal for 11 years.

Having been in service for 29 years as administrator of different “small and big schools”, Celo’s main objective of accepting the challenge to head INHS is to improve the school’s academic performance

and achievement.Furthermore, he envisions

the school to reap more honor and prestige and remain as the number one secondary school in the country.

Hon. Defensor is inspirational speaker

of Iloilo. Also, it would be utilized

by the Physical Education, Health, and Music (PEHM) Department for holding classes and indoor sports training.

It is with great pleasure that I extend my warmest felicitations to the members of the Iloilo High School Class ’57 on the occasion of our Golden 50th Jubilee Celebration.

The Iloilo High School has a special place in the recesses of my heart, as it is its august halls where I learned the valuable lessons that would guide me as I struggled to fullfi ll my boyish hopes and dreams.

My high school days are laden with grateful memories that I will always treasure, I remember how we, the members of Class ‘57, were but starry-eyed adolescents, full of idealism and brimming with hope and dreams for a bright future. I remember the enthusiasm with wich we learned about the world and its complexities.

Fast forward to the present and we realize that life is not as simple as we thought it was then. We have learned through the years the struggle to fi nd a meaningful life is never-ending.

While we should be grateful for all that we have accomplished, we should not let these be the measure of who we are. It is in how we lived our lives, in how we have loved and served our fellowmen and country.
