VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL GOES TO

BACK YARD BIBLE CLUBS June 22-25, 9-11am

What will we be doing? We will provide a rotation of activities (including recreation, crafts, bible study and snack) for the children in 2 neighborhoods to participate in while you, your family, your children participate with them, serve and play with them. On Monday, June 22 we will canvas at these locations (from 9-11am) with flyers and waivers to invite all kids who finished 1st-6th to participate in this mission outreach and prep any crafts for the coming days. This is first a mission outreach activity for families to serve in to-gether but we also understand some parents may not be able to miss work. Finished 4th-6th graders can sign up to serve at this outreach without their parent. They will be able to “do” the activities right along with the other kids but will also be expected to serve, to talk with kids they may not know, to give up their turn to allow others a chance, to help younger children with their crafts, etc. It’s a mission trip for them to serve their community. If your children are younger than the 1st-6th allowed to participate they can still come and serve alongside you. We want families there serving together and these younger ones will learn a lot in watching you serve and helping in ways they can.

SUMMER ACTIVITIES:

Each Wednesday we will alternate our groups and meet-ing times. All their SS leaders are invited to join us.

June 10—Finished 3rd-6th 6-7pm June 17—Finished 4K– 2nd 6-7pm

During this time we will fellowship with snacks and games and study God’s word. We will meet outside on

the Pee Wee field so kids are encouraged to bring a tow-el or lawn chair for seating. If it rains we will meet in the

gym.

YOUTH NEWS

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9. This was part of my quiet time this morning. I don’t know how God talks to you but he often talks to me about subjects for long periods of time (it could be because I am slow to learn). Recently, God has been working on my heart and mind in the area of grace. What does God’s grace mean to me? Yes, I know the Biblical answers and have heard many many sermons on the subject, but to me, none of that matters. What grace is to me is what is conveyed through my life. Ask yourself this ques-tion, if you would: “if the only grace people ever saw was the grace I show them, could they see and know God’s grace from my life?” I have been struck and deeply saddened by some of what I have seen in the last few weeks. And my reactions are pretty strong and would be filled with self-righteousness were it not for the grace of God in my life. See, self-righteousness takes us as far away from God as sin does (look at the Pharisees). Every morning I take a shower. I just can’t stand to be dirty. But what about me spiritually? I need to bathe every day in the grace of God. Because my heart is still bent towards sin. My mind is still bent towards sin. In the past couple weeks, God has really been speaking to my heart about grace. And I have seen miracles of God’s grace in my life and those around me. Because this week, I have looked out and saw some people as Jesus would see them rather than how I would normally see them. I want to be a testimony of God’s grace that people see and hear. I want to be a messenger of grace and that means giving up control to Christ — control of my heart, my mind, my opinions, my mouth, everything! See you Sunday!

Hello church! Hope you’re doing well.

I wanted to take a moment to encourage you to come back to church. I know that taking a couple of months off from meeting together corporately can form some new habits like watching church in your pajamas and having breakfast during service, but there is no substitute for being at church in-person if you’re able.

In Hebrews 10:24,25 the author writes...”And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”

The author is exhorting the early church members not to neglect meeting to-gether, because there is great benefit in meeting together.

Corporate worship of the Lord is so much sweeter than individual wor-ship. Fellowship, even at 6 foot distance, is a tremendous benefit, and certain-ly one of the reasons that God gave us the church. Relationship-building only happens when we’re physically together. And quite frankly and selfishly, I

and the rest of your staff miss you.

Now, if you aren’t ready to return out of concern for catching the virus, I un-derstand that. You take your time coming back, and we’ll be here when you’re ready.

But there are many in the church who’ve returned to life as usual in many ways, but haven’t yet returned to church. This is your invitation to come on back!

This Sunday morning, we honor our graduating seniors of 2020. They have missed out on a lot this year due to the virus. If you’re able, come and be a part of their special day.

Colossians 3:23,24 on this Baccalaureate Sunday morning. See you soon! Bro. Chris

CHURCH STAFF

&

Join us for a special celebration of all of the mothers and fathers in church on Sunday, June 21 in both the 8:30 and 11:00 Worship Services. Since we were unable to meet on Mother’s Day, we thought it would be nice to celebrate mothers and fathers together on a single day.
