UPDATE

Technology is a tool. If a tool does not fulfill its purpose,

it becomes worthless. This is an overt truth, but one that

is becoming harder and harder to live by as the world of

technology expands.

While this poses immense challenges for many companies,

it is the bread and butter of Mjølner.

Versatility is of the utmost importance when our techno-

logical tools are created. As a business in today’s techno-

logy landscape, you need to be present across all platforms.

This requires skills in everything, from iOS to Windows

Phone and Android, and from HTML 5 to embedded solu-

tions. This is what we are here for - to help you reach your

potential.

In this issue, you will learn how our design and develop-

ment of eBay’s iPad and Android apps helped them beat

their competitors at the finish line. We will share the bene-

fits of our unique technology, TouchGFX, and how it added

value to Energy Micro’s low energy microcontrollers. Also,

you’ll be able to read about our facilitation of knowledge

sharing at Microsoft’s Development Conference by means

of a Windows Phone 8 app.

Finally, this issue presents Mjølner’s new consultancy services.

These services have emerged from a business-driven process

where we tested and utilized our company philosophy.

For Mjølner, this means putting our customers first.

Best Regards,

Jørgen Lindskov Knudsen, CEO

According to Thomas Jensen, Senior Product Manager of

Mobile at eBay Denmark, the new mobile apps have already

become massive successes.

Just before Easter, an Android app for dba.dk, and an iPad app

for Bilbasen.dk, were released. eBay is expecting the apps to

be used by approximately 160.000 users. You can currently

see commercials for the iPad app on Danish national TV.

The Best Car Search Tool in the World

The fruits of the eBay/Mjølner collaboration are also being

noticed outside Danish borders. The app for Bilbasen.dk

received great reviews at the international eBay-Motors

summit.

We were very proud to present the app and the positive feed-

back was overwhelming. My colleagues agreed that our car

searching tool for iPad, provides one of the best user experi-

ences in the world!

– Morten Heuing, General Manager, eBay DK.

The development and design of these apps followed Mjølner’s

well-proven process, created to bring every question and

challenge to the surface, placing the user at the center of

attention.

BEING A SERIOUS CONTENDERIN TODAY’S MOBILE MARKETCALLS FOR PRESENCE ON SEVERAL PLATFORMS. FOR eBay, WE WERE THE NATURAL PARTNER INMEETING THIS CHALLENGE.

In December 2012 eBay contacted Mjølner. They needed help

developing apps for their Danish brands Bilbasen.dk and dba.

dk. Easter is the time of the year when most used cars are

sold and bought in Denmark, making this a crucial deadline.

Partnering up with Mjølner was a natural step for us. We

have worked with them before and their agile team made us

confident that they would deliver platform specific, high

quality products, on time.

– Lars Lynggaard, Head of C2C Technology, eBay DK.

More Platforms Equal More Work

During the last years, the use of mobile devices has exploded.

This dramatically increases the importance of being present

on several platforms.

Android is a particularly challenging platform as the many

supported devices differ in screen resolution and interaction

possibilities. This makes the development of Android apps a

complex and time-consuming process.

eBay’s users generate all content and thereby profit, placing

them at the heart of eBay’s business. To meet the needs of

an extremely diverse and wide-ranging user group, conve-

nience is key.

We have made the strategic choice of specializing in one

platform in-house. By delegating other projects to Mjølner,

we are able to beat our competitors at the finish line,

putting out products on a variety of platforms simulta-

neously, leaving no customer behind.

INNOVATION IS VITAL TOMAINTAINING YOUR COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE IN TODAY’SFIERCE MARKETPLACE.

The benefits of innovation are endless. By innovating, we take

the future into our own hands, actively creating the consumer

needs of tomorrow. Our ability to innovate makes us able to

move first and leave our competitors scurrying to catch up.

This is a realization of many businesses today, and the ways of

working with innovation are numerous. At Mjølner, we swear by

an effective and iterative process with a strong focus on trial-

and-error. We wholeheartedly subscribe to the saying:

Fail early, fail cheaply.

A Lightweight Process with Great Impact

Mjølner gave a case presentation at the 600 minutes of Innova-

tion and Product Development Conference. The feedback from

the many R&D and Innovation Managers in the audience made

it clear that user-driven innovation is in high demand.

GETTING AHEAD THROUGHCUSTOMER-DRIVEN INNOVATION

In the latest issue we told the story of how Mjølner and Linak

teamed up to develop a new patient panel concept.

This is one of many examples of how Mjølner facilitates

user-driven innovation processes based on our customers’

intricate knowledge of their fields and markets. Our process is

designed to be effective, exploratory, and lightweight.

By treating the process not as the way toward a final product,

but as an innovation project, we are able to achieve much more,

in much less time, at a fraction of the cost.

– Christina Dencker Orehøj Kjærsgaard, UX Manager, Mjølner.

We deliver an efficient process focused on results and the

systematization of existing knowledge and ideas within your

company. Every process is based on a strong partnership with

our client.

Touch and Register

At the heart of DDC is the sharing of knowledge. Through
