UX RESEARCH AND DESIGN

PROBLEM

There is no reputable online database

that matches top computer science

students with the right companies.

There is no efficient way of seeing the

students’ information (experience,

projects, and code).

SOLUTION

Create a highly curated site where students are tested

on their skills through coding challenges.

Give the recruiters the ability to source top talent more

accurately using an objective rating scale.

Empower students to showcase their skills and coding

knowledge to the best names in technology.

TechDraft is an online portal that allows

recruiters access to a curated database of top

technical graduates and interns

RECRUITERS

“Almost no recruiters know how to code. I’m one of the

few that do but for the most part they’re going off of

reqs from HR.”

“I get hundreds of resumes every day and have too

many sites to verify. Having one central location with all

of the information I need would be very helpful.”

STUDENTS

“Most kids are fine to code for a while out of school but

they don’t want to do it forever. It’s about the project

experience - leading a project, guiding a project and a

process.”

“I’m great at code, but I’m not from a ‘Top-Tier’

university. It’s hard for kids at my school to get an

interview. My resume just gets looked over.”

KEY TAKEAWAYS (RECRUITERS)

• Use multiple sites for sourcing talent

• Internal website, LinkedIn, GitHub, Monster, CareerBuilder, Career Fairs

• Most don’t have coding knowledge

• They don’t have a computer science background

• May not administer the coding tests which comes after the recruiter

• Hiring managers or engineers administer the test after being screened by

recruiter

KEY TAKEAWAYS (STUDENTS)

• Use LinkedIn passively for job searches

• They don't have many connections

• Apply for jobs directly through company websites

• They know the companies they want to work for

• Want to know the type of projects they’ll be working on

• They want to improve professionally
