Security: Four incidents of car burglary on Terranova West Drive, Oaksham, Terrawren, and Windtree, and one incident of a home on Woodlode were perpetrated. A car was egged on Terranova West Drive. Someone’s prescription medicine was stolen during their move. Constables patrolled on every street in TNW at least two times in December, driving 1504 miles. Please let them know if you believe cars are speeding on your street. Everyone needs to heed the marquee at Cypresswood and T.C. Jester and make a New Year’s resolution to slow down! In addition, residents expressed their dismay on the huge number of cars parked on our streets when most driveways are empty. Cars parked on the street make driving dangerous, especially if cars are parked on both sides of the street and in front of driveways. If you must use the street, be considerate of your neighbors: park in front of your own house, but first, park in your driveway. Cars in the street must be moved every 48 hours. Cars experience the greatest amount of vandalism when they are parked on the street.

Clubhouse: Again we thank Maria and Elio Carra for taking care of our clubhouse and for handling the rentals.

ARC/Deed Restrictions: Dan Winters has guided our homeowners through 107 ARC requests in 2013. Thank you, our homeowners, for making these requests. When you are planning a renovation, it is simple to submit a request—the form

is on our website. Submit them to Chaparral Management. The request will be analyzed and usually approved. These have high priority. We won’t leave you guessing on the decision. Thanks for improving your property in a manner that agrees with our deed restrictions. That’s why our neighborhood looks so good! In addition, know that the appearance of your house reflects on

your neighbor, too. Be a good neighbor! Keep your yard and house maintained.

If you should receive a letter from Chaparral requesting that you correct something at your home, please don’t take offense. Our Board duties are to enforce our Deed Restrictions. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Action: We are re-signing our contract with Royal Disposal for trash pick-up

for another 3 years at no price increase. We are beginning the landscaping of the west side of T.C. Jester between Springton and Glenmere by starting the irrigation and electric hook-ups. Tennis Courts 3 and 4 will be resurfaced. The decking at the entrance to the pool has been re-done.

Updates: The installation of stoplights along T.C. Jester is being re-examined by the county. We thank Cheri Hornsby and Cheryl Shaw for delivering new member packets to our new residents. If anyone has any questions about new resident information, please contact Cheri at 281-320-8618 or [email protected]

INFORMATION

The Largest of NAM’s Resale

Stores Has Moved! On Monday, December 16, 2013, NAM (Northwest

Assistance Ministries) opened the doors to its new resale store at 2327 FM 1960 W, one mile east of the previous location. The new store is located at the corner of FM 1960 and Kuykendahl—just steps away from NAM’s main building—and offers more convenient access for donors and customers alike. Donations of gently used clothing, furniture, and household items are always needed, but especially now to help get the store off to a great start. Donations may be brought to any of the three Treasures of the Heart locations (see below). “We really need the community’s continued support during this transition, in terms of donating items and shopping at the stores,” said Carole Little, President & CEO of NAM. “Last year our Treasures of the Heart stores generated $1.2 million for NAM, so your unwanted items truly are treasure for us!”
