What made you feel Amwaj was the right choice?

when I got this opportunity, I was very curious about it. I researched about Amwaj and came across the company’s portfolio and achievements; this convinced me that working with Amwaj was the right choice without a doubt. It feels great to play an important role in this company.

Tell us a little about your career before joining Amwaj.

Prior to working in Amwaj Islands, I was working as an auditor in India where I used to travel to different parts of India to audit various companies. As an auditor, you are given a great responsibility to care for the audited company. my experience as an auditor is what shaped my future career and all the decisions made thereafter. I always believe you should allow your passion to become your purpose, and it will one day become your profession that’s what I did in my life.

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

I am Indian by nationality. I got my professional degree as Chartered Accountant from ICAI. I’m pretty easy-going. I find it easy to get along with people. I’m very conscientious; I strive to make sure I do a good job in anything I do. I pride myself in being honest, because I believe it is important. I’m a team player. I’m happy to collaborate with other people on projects. I love to travel

How do you feel being the new Finance Manager at Amwaj?

It feels great when you know that you’re working with a big developing company in Bahrain that is responsible for the creation of Amwaj Islands; one of the top ten man- made islands in the world. But as the Finance manager of the company, I am faced with a lot of challenges, which easily makes me know this was the right move forward in my career, as we know nothing worth having, comes easy! I look forward to continue here at

What do you do in your spare time?

I normally work on my skills to update my knowledge of the world. I also like to meditate as I believe it refreshes the mind and thoughts. I am a very sporty person, l like to swim and play squash with my friends and I also enjoy cooking.

What attracted you to Amwaj? we were looking for a property that would give us a relaxed lifestyle at the same time, something that would develop into a secure financial investment.

How long have you been living here? we have been living in Bahrain since 1997 and we were

the first residents of Tala Island, we moved in in 2007.

What do you do for a living? I am the General manager of an Aluminium alloy company, Bahrain Alloys manufacturing. Previously, I was with Alba for 5 years, prior to joining Bamco.

What events would you like to see happening in Amwaj? I think there could be more emphasis on water sports utilizing The Lagoon area.

How do you like to spend your free time in Amwaj? Lorraine and myself like to walk and swim, so the beach gets used a fair bit.

Do you feel you have made the right decision moving to Amwaj? Certainly so. It is just great to drive into Amwaj of an afternoon and feel that you can be in any 5 star residential village in the world, that you desire.

What do you like to do in your spare time? Lorraine and I both like to travel. From that, we create our own photo books which consume a lot of pleasurable time.

What’s your favourite type of cuisine? Definitely seafood.

What’s your all time favorite movie? sound of music. we did the tour in Austria a few years ago..just wonderful.

If you could change anything in Amwaj, what would it be? we would like to see a petrol station close to Amwaj. Otherwise everything is just great.

What events do you look forward to in Amwaj? we find the markets quite interesting although last series was a bit flat.

During the month of ramadan, muslims observe a strict fast and participate in pious activities such as charitable giving and peace-making. It is a time of intense spiritual renewal for those who observe it. At the end of ramadan, muslims throughout the world observe a joyous three-day celebration called eid al-Fitr (the Festival of Fast-Breaking).

eid al-Fitr falls on the first day of shawwal, the month which follows ramadan in the Islamic calendar. It is a time to give in charity to those in need, and celebrate with family and friends the completion of a month of blessings and joy.

Before the day of eid, during the last few days of ramadan, each muslim family gives a determined amount as a donation to the poor.

Eid al-Fitr

This donation is of actual food; rice, barley, dates or rice to ensure that the needy can have a holiday meal and participate in the celebration. This donation is known as sadaqah al-fitr (charity of fast-breaking).

On the day of eid, muslims gather early in the morning in outdoor locations or mosques to perform the eid prayer. This consists of a sermon followed by a short congregational prayer.

After the eid prayer, muslims usually scatter to visit various family and friends, give gifts (especially to children), and make phone calls to distant relatives to give well-wishes for the holiday. These activities traditionally continue for three days. In most muslim countries, the entire 3-day period is an official government/
