Brief DefinitionNetworking


A computer network, often simply referred to as a network, is a collection of computers and devices interconnected by communications channels that facilitate communications and allows sharing of resources and information among interconnected devices.

. Computer networking or data communications (Datacom) is the engineering discipline concerned with computer networks.

Networking


Personal Area Network (PAN) is a computer network used for communication among computer and different information technological devices close to one person.

Local Area Network (LAN) is a network that connects computers and devices in a limited geographical area such as home, school, computer laboratory, office building, or closely positioned group of buildings.

Types of Network


Metropolitan area network (MAN) is a large computer network that usually spans a city or a large campus.

Wide Area Network (WAN) is a computer network that covers a large geographic area such as a city, country, or spans even intercontinental distances, using a communications channel that combines many types of media such as telephone lines, cables, and air waves.

The education is the basic needs of the Pilipino people. A basic education is consisting of academics, arthritic and other types of educational values that the school can teach us.

Communication Link Between School


VSATs are connected by radio frequency (RF) links via a satellite, with a so-called uplink from the station to the satellite and a so-called downlink from the satellite to the station. The overall link from station to station, sometimes called hop, consists of an uplink and a downlink. A radio frequency link is a modulated carrier conveying information.

Very Small Aperture Terminal


Basically the satellite receives the uplinked carriers from the transmitting earth stations within the field of view of its receiving antenna, amplifies those carriers, translates their frequency to a lower band in order to avoid possible output/input interference, and transmits the amplified carriers to the stations located within the field of view of its transmitting antenna.



Present VSAT networks use geostationary satellites, which are satellites orbiting in the equatorial plane of the earth at an altitude above the earth surface of 35 786 km. It should be noted that the distance from an earth station to the geostationary satellite induces a radio frequency carrier power attenuation of typically 200 dB on both uplink and downlink, and a propagation delay from earth station to earth station (hop delay) of about 0.25 s.

Block Up Converter (BUC) – is the part of the transmit chain of the VSAT.

BUC has having local oscillator and power amplifier to convert the electrical signal from the IDU transmitted using Coaxial Cable into Wave Signals and throw the signal to the atmosphere.
