NOTICE TO BIDDERS Colorado County invites sealed bids for the furnishing

of all labor, materials, equipment and/or incidentals re- quired for the following: (1) Road paving, (2) MC-30 road oil or proven equal, and (3) CRS-2 emulsion for all County Precincts. Specifications to be obtained from County Judge Al Jamison's Office, 1st Floor, Colorado County Courthouse, Columbus, Texas 78934 (979/732-2604).

Bids must be received on or before March 10,2005 at 10:00 o'clock a.m. and are irrevocable for 60 days from that time. Bids will be opened and read in the Colorado County Courtroom, Courthouse, Columbus, Texas at that time and date. Awarding of bids may be made on March 14,2005.

Bidders for the road paving shall include in its bid proof of Workers' Compensation Insurance and General Liabil- ity Insurance Coverage in the amount of one million dol- lars ($1,000,000). The successful Bidder for the road pav- ing will be required to furnish a Performance Bond if the contract is in excess of $100,000 and a Pavement Bond if the contract is in excess of $25,000. For those con- tracts for road paving that are $50,000 or less no money will be paid to the Contractor until completion and accep- tance of the work.

Road paving Bidders will be required to provide bid bonds for five (5%) percent of the bid amount.

Bidder will use lump sum or unit pricing as per speci- fications. Pavement will be made no later than 30 days after application for payment and proper processing by Commissioners' Court.

Colorado County reserves the right to reject any and or all bids or to accept any bid advantageous to the County.

Local Blinn students meet with Cook

Three Blinn College students from La Grange were among a group of students from the college who met with District 17 State Rep. Robby Cook, D-Eagle Lake, on Feb. 17 during Texas Community College Student Day at the State Capitol. Pictured with Cook are, from left to right, LaCresa Martin, Jessica Skelton and Sarah Nickel. More than 1,000 community college students from across the state held a rally on the Capitol steps and later met with their individual legislators to urge restoration of adequate funding to the states 50 community college dis- tricts. The Blinn students also met with other legislators or their staffs whose districts include the college's cam- puses in Brenham, Bryan, Schulenburg and Sealy. Resolutions recognizing the students were read in both the House and the Senate. The Texas Junior College Student Government Association organized the day.
