Open-die forging: ‘True-to-Life’ process conditions

Validate your analysis via the multi-window & multi-project environment

Assembly files can be loaded directly via FORGE® NxT 2.0, in order to ease and speed-up geometry import from the CAD systems. Several formats (step, stl, .x.t, etc.) are supported. Each assembly item is instantly converted as a separate object.

Innovative marking grid techniques based on plane layers or cylinder sets allow deeper grain flow analysis and more accurate detection of flow-through defects.

Based on a scalar result, the iso-volume representation enables users to isolate any work piece internal volume: this is a useful way to verify a minimum deformation rate or identify areas of excessive temperature or damage. Very smart indeed!

For open-die forging, final product quality may be affected by the edges handled by manipulators. It is crucial to scrutinize the real manipulator geometry, as well as the local temperature and heat exchange coefficient, as forging designers intend to control the whole product’s temperature and effective strain.

Manipulator geometry is imported from

CAD files and via FORGE® NxT 2.0. Well-defined contact areas and local heat exchanges provide a more accurate temperature prediction on the edges. For temperature-sensitive materials, it is crucial to locate, in advance, any possible zones where the temperature may be below a critical threshold.

Users can load distinct projects and each stage will be assigned to a dedicated window via the FORGE® NxT intuitive interface.

Alternative designs can be compared at a glance. Toggling from one project to another is as easy as switching from pre-processing data to post- processing analysis results.

Induction heating & hardening: Mobility given to parts & coils

FORGE® NxT & JMatPro®: A fruitful combination

Hot rolling: Amazing speed-up via the newest steady-state approach

Simulations for hot rolling of flat and long products are always very demanding. There is a wide calculation range and it is thus crucial to offer an effective

simulation solution, as the bar or slab passes through multiple consecutive stands. FORGE® NxT provides a powerful steady-state approach which

guarantees the highest accuracy, as well as 10 to 50 times faster CPU time than standard incremental methods.

JMatPro® mechanical and thermo-physical properties are exported to FORGE® material datafile as a result of long-lasting collaboration. FORGE® NxT 2.0 now also supports phase transformation data leading to the use of TTT/CCT diagrams. Consequently,

only one single datafile is needed to simulate operations of a different kind such as cold-warm-hot forming stages (preform, blocker, etc.) and any heat treatment operation (controlled cooling, quenching, tempering, etc.). It’s so simple!

TRANSVALOR S.A. is constantly enhancing its induction heating and hardening development. FORGE® NxT introduces the possibility to have mobile billets traveling into a heating tunnel and ability to have mobile inductors or concentrators defined for induction

hardening. FORGE® NxT is increasingly offering extra heat treatment features and stands by its credo of ‘Simulating the complete manufacturing chain from billet to finished part’.

Microstructure & MetallurgyTRANSVALOR is constantly improving its models in the field of metallurgy. FORGE® NxT 2.0 includes new models which allow the prediction of α-phase and β-phase transformation to take place during a full thermo-mechanical cycle in order to meet aerospace industry requirements.

Simulate induction heating & induction hardening on multiple cores and take advantage of a 100% parallel resolution NEW
