register your kids for backpacks and school supplies (if needed) and stop by the Youth Center, 3 Aug, 1000 - 1230 for all the information you will need to begin the school year. We will also have a Tween and Teen Hang

Out that afternoon. School registration for new students will beginon 5 August. New students must register in person, while returning students may registered on line with your Power

BACK TO SCHOOL BRIGADEOn August 3, the Youth Center will be having their annual Back to School Brigade from 10 AM – 12 PM. There will be an info fair, as well as bike and fire safety lessons. There will be a tween hangout from1 – 2 PM and a teen hangout from 2:30 – 5:30 PM.

TWEEN WAHOOZ TRIPAges 9 – 12 are invited to join the Youth Center on their trip to Wahooz on August 6 from4:30 – 10 PM. The cost is $25 per person. Sign up by August 1.

4-H WHITEWATER RAFTING TRIPAges 11 – 18 are welcome to join the 4-HWhitewater Rafting Trip on August 7 from7:30 AM – 3 PM. The cost is $5 per person.

BACK TO SCHOOL FAMILY SKATE NIGHTCome enjoy a fun-filled family night at the Youth Center on August 23 from 6 – 8 PM! The cost is$3 per person, but parents skate for free!

SKEET LEAGUE*Beginning August 1, you can join a Skeet League! Pick up a registration form at Outdoor Rec or Trap & Skeet. Create a team of 4 or 5, if you need a team ODR can help place you on a team.

WHITEWATER RAFTING*Join ODR for Whitewater Rafting on August 3, 4, 17, and 24! The cost is $45 per person, or $25 for those who are R4R eligible. Trip includes transportation, equipment, and leadership.

TSUNAMI FITNESS AQUA CLASS* Join Outdoor Rec for their Tsunami Fitness Aqua Classes held at the Marina. Classes vary between yoga, cardio, balance, resistance bands, and more! Please bring a swim suit and towel. Limited to 6 people per class, the cost is $15 per person. Classes on August 4 & 11 will be from 2:30 – 3:30 PM, and classes on August 17 & 24 will be from 9:30 – 10:30 AM.

KAYAKING POOL SESSIONS Learn to properly paddle, brace, roll and exit your kayak in the safety of a warm swimming pool on August 5, 12, 19, and 26 from 3 – 6 PM. The cost is $5 per person. Ages 12 and older are invited to come; ages 18 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

INFLATABLE KAYAKING*On August 7 & 14 from 4:45 – 10 PM, enjoy an evening of adventure on the Snake River near the town of Bliss. Learn to paddle and maneuver a sit-on-top inflatable kayak throughClass II and III rapids. This event is open to ages 12 and older; ages 18 and under must beaccompanied by an adult. The cost is $25 per person. Transportation, gear, and leadership are provided.

FAMILY FLOAT*Float down the Snake River with Class II rapids on August 11 & 31!ODR provides the transportation and rafting gear. Minimum weightis 50 lbs and 6 years or older; ages 18 and under must beaccompanied by an adult. The cost is $30 per person.

Enjoy a 4-hour Paddle boarding and Kayaking Excursion on the Snake River under the Perrine Bridge to Pillar Falls in Twin Falls on August 17. All equipment and instructions on how to paddle board and kayak are included. The cost is $15 per person. Please register by August 13. The trip leaves Base at 12 PM, with a downtown pickup at 12:15 PM. Return time is at 7:30 PM. Kids 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

BACK TO SCHOOL MOVIE IN THE PARK Bring blankets and chairs to the Disc Golf Course on base(the field between the Commissary and Gunfighter Service Center) at 9:30 PM on August 2, for a showing of SHAZAM (PG-13). every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30 – 8:30 PM. Ages 16 and older

TRANSITION GPSTransition GPS is on August 12 – 16from 8 AM – 5 PM at AFRC. Transition GPS is designed to introduce retirees and separatees to Crosswalk, Resilience, and the importance of Individual Transition Plans. Finances for transitioning military members will be explained in detail. The following topics will be covered: spending plan, budget, networth statement, credit reports and scores, evaluate salaries and compensation packages, cost of living, and how taxes will change. This class is available for ranks O-3 and below and E-6 and below.

TSP WORKSHOPCome to the Airman and Family Readiness Center onAugust 13 from 1 – 3:30 PM for the TSP Workshop. This workshop provides the basics of establishing an account, fund types, account management, allocations, maximum contribution limits, and more! Be sure to bring

a copy of your most current LES.

EFMP: PARENT GROUPOn August 13 from 10 – 11:15 AM, EFMP Parents are encouraged to join the EFMP Parent Group at the Kids

Gym in building 2610. This group is not diagnosisspecific so that parents of children with any type of

special need are welcome to attend.

PRIVATE SECTOR RESUME BASICSOn August 14, there will be a Private Sector Resume

Basics class at AFRC from 8:30 – 11:30 AM. This workshop discusses the resume process and is designed

to help you organize your experience and skills to create or update your professional resume. Please bring a

notebook and pen.

GROUP PRE-SEPARATION BRIEFCome to the Group Pre-Separation

FINANCE:DITCHIN’ THE DORMS

Single Airmen looking to moveout of the dorms are encouraged tojoin this briefing on August 20 at

the Airman and Family Readiness Centerfrom 12 – 1 PM. This program is designed to help

Airmen develop a financial plan for moving out of the dorms and provide them with local information and

resources to make a successful transition out of the dorms.

SMALL BUSINESS ADMIN: BOOTS TO BUSINESSJoin this Entrepreneur class on August 20 from

9:30 AM – 4 PM at the Airman and Family Readiness Center. This class is designed for those who would like

to start a small business.

Give Parents a Break (GPAB) is an Air Force Aid Society program for respite care for deployed families or parents

that may be facing a crisis or challenge. Care is provided at the CDC and Youth Center one time per month at no cost to

parents.

Families can get a certificate from the Airman & Family Readiness Center and sign up at either the CDC or Youth

Center.
