The Gate Trust exists to enrich the lives of people across Cardiff; we have three main focuses in doing so:

Educating, performing, engaging and promoting the arts in all its forms. From Drama and Dance, to Music, Concerts, Theatre or Opera, the Written Word or Static Art; allowing it to be expressed, experienced and enjoyed.

Lives are not just of great worth, they are priceless. We see people develop vocationally and holistically – learning with their head, practicing with their hands and reflecting with their heart. We provide enriching courses, practical experiences and reflective space for all of our class members, interns, apprentices, volunteers and staff. We want to see every person involved with us grow and and engage with their vocation more clearly.

Were passionate about seeing relationships and connections grow in our community. We’re here to serve, and we want to do that in as many helpful and encouraging ways as possible as we support people experiencing real problems in a tangible way.

pshe education - theatreineducation...Going Public takes Theatre in Education right to where the kids are, in schools. We have been delivering Personal and Social Education across South Wales for over 20 years. We strongly believe that the use of Theatre in Education is incredibly well suited to the learning needs of young people – in particular in the sensitive areas that are covered in PSHE education. To enable some of those key issues to be best processed, all presentations are followed by a workshop. We now have 5 presentations available for school years 8 -11...

Wholehearted: Self-image, esteem and friendship for girls

BRAP: ‘the rap on boys’

In search of a happy ending: Sex & relationships, STIs & contraception

Borderline Alcoholic: effects of alcohol on life and relationships

Snakes and Ladders: discussing issues of mental health

Marvellous Me: for years 5 and 6 on body changes

If you are a teacher or youth worker and currently plan your PSHE education programme for the year ahead then please see our website for details of all the resources we offer at www.goingpublic.org.uk/schools. Contact Hannah: 029 20730362 or [email protected]
