Od najstarejše trte sveta do najstarejšega slovenskega vina Explore the circular cycling route on the Drava Cycling Trail – Drava Bike from Maribor, the city of the oldest vine, to Ptuj, the oldest Slovenian city, which is a home to the oldest Slovenian wine. The trail is marked in both directions – the left one, paved, as well as the right one, the macadam. Choose your favourite path and follow the Drava Bike markings.

« From Soil to Vine, From Vine to Grapes ... « The Old Vine Festival is joined by the Maribor Library, which will present the diverse material on wine and viticulture areas to honour the oldest vine in the world, i.e. in the Rotovž, Nova Vas, Kamnica and Selnica ob Dravi libraries.

The Dravske Elektrarne MariborCompany manufactures the quarter of all Slovenian electric power with eight large

hydroelectric power plants on the Drava River, five small hydroelectric power plants and four solar power plants. The average annual production of the DEM company, which amounts

to 2,800 million kWh, adds up to 80% of Slovenian electric power, which is compliant with the renewable source criteria and the RECS (Renewable Energy Certificates System) internationally renowned certificate and its standards. The total power at the threshold

of the DEM power plants is almost 600 MW. Efficiency, reliability, flexibility, integrity and environmental responsibility are the fundamental values of the company, and care of the

environment always remains criterion of labour and economic success judgement – within the existing capabilities and those, which will yet be emphasised.

The latter and the resolutions of the state regarding the increase of the energy share and produce from renewable sources pave the way of the society to the future, founded on two key objectives: maintenance of existing production facilities for safe and reliable operation

and research in the area of exploiting other renewable sources. The Drava River on Slovenian soil is energetically harvested, thus certain plans and implementations of energetic use of its affluent are in the making, as well as using the energy of the sun, wind and other renewable

energy sources.
