Article I: Legislative Branch
• House of Representative • Qualifications• Age: At least 25 years old.• Residency: Must live in state
chosen to represent • Citizenship: Must be in United
States citizen for at least 7 years
Article I:
• Elections: held every two years• Responsibilities: • Impose and collect taxes and duties • Borrow money• Regulate commerce with foreign nations and
among the state• Coin money• Establish post office• Declare war • Raise and support an army and navy
Article I : Senate
• Qualifications• Age at least 30 years old• Residency: must live in state you
are chosen to represent • Citizenship: must be a United
states citizen for at least 9 years
Senate
• Elections: held every six years• Two senators from each state• Responsibilities:• Choose their officers• Have the sole power to try all
impeachments• When the President of the United
States is tried , the Chief Of Justice shall preside.
Article II: Executive Branch
• Consists of the President and Vice-Presidents
• Qualifications :• Age: must be at least 35 years old • Residency : Must be in the united
States for at least 14 years • Citizenship- have to be a natural born
United States Citizen.
President
• Elections: every four years• Responsibilities:• Carry out and enforce laws made by
Congress • Make treaties with other nations• Appoint certain government officials• Act as commander in chief of the armed
forces • Veto laws passed by congress
Article III
• Supreme court• Needed to decide disputes between state
governments and between citizens of two or more state
• Also needed for disputes between the national government and a state or citizen.
• Appointed by the president for life or until retire .• Two types of jurisdiction: original and appellate
jurisdiction.
Amendment I
• Congress shall make no law against the freedom of Religion
Amendment V• No person shall be held to answer for
a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.
Amendment XIV
• All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction therefore, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.
