Library News To celebrate World Book Day on
Thursday, 1 March 2018 why not
read a book written by an
international author, for example:
From the United Kingdom - Paddington by Michael Bond;
From Denmark - The Ugly Duckling by H. C. Andersen;
Overdue books – Unfortunately we currently have 384 overdue books, the majority from 2017, which is a significant number. It would be greatly appreciated if these books could be returned as soon as possible. Mrs Stevens - Library

As Principal, my number one priority is the happiness and safety of every child and staff member. Children who are feeling happy and safe are receptive learners. If you have concerns about your child, please contact us, as ‘problems’ are far more easily attended to now than in the last week of school! We are only too aware that at times parents tend to think their concerns are trivial and you debate with yourself whether you should contact the school. Our response is that nothing is too trivial when it comes to the education of your child. So if you have concerns or want clarification, please contact us. I will ask you, however, to consider the following points:
The number one priority of our teachers is
teaching the children; therefore, if you
arrive unannounced, it may not be
convenient or possible to release them from
teaching duties to speak to you. It is always
best to arrange a meeting time by phoning
the office or writing your child’s teacher a
note requesting a meeting.
If you want to meet with me, it is generally
best to make an appointment as I can have
a number of commitments throughout the
day and cannot be always readily available.
It is important not to speak to any other
child other than your own. Please seek a
teacher’s assistance to sort out concerns or
questions.
SRC NEWS The Student Representative Council (SRC) is a group of Years 3-6 students nominated by their peers to be the representative and voice for their class during year. Students on the SRC are involved in organising fundraisers, discos and other school events. Nominations and elections have taken place last week. SRC representatives will hold office for 1 Semester. Please return
your brochure
& monies to
school by
Friday 9 March
2018. The current scheduled day for pick-up of your order is Monday 19 March 2018. Billy G’s has had a problem with the process to order online so we ask you to please send
orders into school. Thanks
A message from the office: With the new computer system operating across the office we would be obliged if all families could let us know of or update their email addresses as a lot of communication regarding your child is connected to email. Thank you for your assistance.

Congratulations to Colby Stavropoulos 1B who received a merit award at last week’s assembly for: fabulous active listening and great contributions to discussions. (His name was accidently omitted from the last Westerly)
LOST RING – Around the 4TS classroom, a rose gold band with large round pink stone. Great sentimental value for owner. Reward offered. Please phone front office on: 6297 2020
