2014 Year in Review

Our future is looking bright.

cale...........................................................

Age: 7His story: Cale takes a break after bonding with his family during Thrive’s family picnic last summer. ......................................................Over 8,000 children and families participated in Thrive programming in 2014.

Our future is looking bright.

By investing in Thrive programming, you invest in the success stories of the 8,000+ local children and families that come through our doors each year.Thank you for helping our participants accomplish their goals in 2014, they couldn’t have done it without you. This is the difference your investment makes in our community. We hope you’ll continue to join us for our next 30 years, thanks to you, our future is looking bright.

Every time I hear the trembling voice of an ovewhelmed parent, I think back to Leslie.

A thank you from our director

Leslie first came to Thrive because she had no idea where else to go. Pregnant, alone, and just 16 years old, her situation seemed unfixable.

Yet in spite of all of her challenges, we could sense Leslie’s determination to be a good mom to her baby girl Aaliyah. With the help of Thrive, Leslie found safe housing, purchased a car, and found a job that was better suited to her new role as a parent.

That was seven years ago, and since then, thousands of other families have come to Thrive to discover the mentoring, education, and support they need to succeed. As we prepare to celebrate 30 years of work in the community, it is important that we also honor the success of parents like Leslie.

Deborah Neuman, Executive Director

We are excited to share the stories of real families in our community with you this year. You will read how learning Love and Logic techniques at a parenting class helped Mike, a young father of two, enjoy parenting more. How Gunner, a sweet six month-old boy is off to a great start ,and finally how Leslie, we are proud to report, graduated from MSU in May of this year!
