Principal's Message

Gwinnett County Public Schools willobserve fall break on Thursday, October 8and Friday, October 9 followed by astudent holiday on Monday, October12. Teachers will not be available forinstruction or help with course contentduring this break. As always, students willhave access to their courses 24/7 and canwork ahead if desired.

Grades 8, 10 & 11: PSAT & PSAT/NMSQT

Students in grades 8 & 10 plus pre-registered students in 11th grade willtake the PSAT on Wednesday,October 14 from 8 a.m.-12:15 p.m.

Students are required to bring a photoID, calculator, pencils and a facemask.

Grades 9-12: Advanced Placement Exam Registration

This section is intended for GOC HighSchool students enrolled in AdvancedPlacement classes for the 2020-21school year. Please click HERE tolearn more about AP Exam details andregistration.

The registration window is now openthrough Sunday, November 8.

We are working closely with the district to ensure that student's GOC gradesare visible in the student portal. In the meantime, have your child follow the

steps below to view your student's course progress. Using this method, you willbe able to view each grade as well as important feedback from your child'steacher. You may also click on the helpful video below.

Grades 4-12: Back to School Bingo

Due to social distancing protocol, weare limiting this event to studentsONLY. For those students joining usface to face, masks will be requiredand social distancing guidelines will bein effect.

In order to participate in this event oncampus, your name MUST be on the RSVP list. No drop offs will be permittedwithout a prior RSVP.

Students must be picked up from this event no later than 11:45 a.m.

October Student Leadership Team (SLT) virtual meetings will be heldaccording to the schedule listed below. All meetings will be held virtually afterCore and Learning Labs from 2-3 p.m.

Grades 6-12: International Thespian Society

The International Thespian Society is an honor society for high school andmiddle school theatre students. GOC student members are eligible toparticipate in state-wide and regional theatre events including Thescon andDramarama. For new and returning students interested in joining for the 2020-21 schoolyear, please click HERE to complete the application and then visit yourMyPaymentsPlus account to pay either the $40 annual ITS Membership Fee(grades 9-12) or the $20 annual JTS Membership Fee (grades 6-8).

If you are a previous ITS (grades 9-12) or JTS (grades 6-8) member you mayrequest to be considered for an officer position.

Calling all theatre students in grades 6-12 who are interested in participatingin Thescon or Dramarama Workshops!

Students interested in participating inthe group performance for Thescon orDramarama should submit a oneminute video audition to Dr. GregoryPritchard as soon as possible.Prepare a one minute selection fromNewsies or a piece of your choice. Atthe end of the audition please indicateif you have any special talents or skills

There will be a variety of rehearsalsboth virtually and face to face withmasks required and social distancingguidelines strictly enforced.

Grades 4-12: GOC Spirit Fan Photo Cutouts

Show your GOC Spirit this year bypurchasing your own Fan Cutout!!

Parents and students maypurchase a cutout of themselvesfrom the waist up to be used forevents such as the virtual talentshow, other school productionsthroughout the year as well asdisplayed around campus.

Please login to your students MyPaymentsPlus account to pay the $20 fee bythe October 14 deadline. After completing your purchase, email a high-resolution photo for each person from the waist up to Ms. JeanetteSchiffmann. To ensure a good and clear quality fan cutout, no pictures ofpictures, no far away photos and no big photos are permitted.

We can't wait to "see" you showing your school spirit all over campus!

Grades 4-12: Odyssey of the Mind

Grades 4-12: School Spirit - GOC Face Masks

Stay safe and show your school spirit bysporting a customized GOC face mask.

Students may purchase a GOC facemask for $5 by visiting theirMyPaymentsPlus account. Oncepayment has been made, students willbe required to submit their receipt to thefront office. Once payment is finalized(in some instances payment may takeup to 7 business days to clear) thestudent will be issued their mask.

Face masks will also be available forcash or credit card purchase in the OwlsNest Cafe' in early to mid October.
