When is the resort openSherkston Shores is a seasonal resort open for overnight stays from May 1st to October 31st The offices however are open 9am-5pm 7 daysweek (unless otherwise notified) during Nov1-Apr30
Is there HST (13 Ontario taxes) when purchasing a Vacation CottageHST is applicable on all vacation cottage sales as well as site fees
Do you provide financingWe are able to offer financing for Canadians There are exclusions and limitations based on the age of the vacation cottage you are purchasing Historically rates of financing are 599 however these rates do vary Speak to a sales team member for more information about our financing options
Do I own the landWhen you purchase a vacation cottage at Sherkston Shores you enter into an annual lease agreement for the vacation cottage sitelot The agreement must be re-signed each and every year
Is there a 55+ area of the ResortWe have no specific designated areas that are 55+ rather we are inclusive of all family types and dynamics
Do the annual Community Fees increaseWe have historically seen increases of 4 ndash 6 annually These rates are reviewed and adjusted annually
Can I bring in my own park model into the resortSherkston Shores is a dealer of park model cottages for the major Canadian manufacturers and we offer a variety of vacation cottages both new and used to fit every familyrsquos needs We also can order custom vacation cottages ask our sales team for more information
Are there any fees which are not included in my annual Seasonal Site FeesYour vacation cottage runs on propane which requires 2x 100lb tanks These propane tanks can be refilled by contacting the Welcome Centre at a cost of $100 each
WaterSewer is billed once annually at a flat rate of $600
Hydro is the responsibility of the owner and is based on consumption billed once annually
Is cable amp internet providedSherkston provides access to basic cable TV as well as resort wide Wi-Fi Cable TV is provided by Cogeco Cable and a digital box will need to be purchasedrented by the owner for this service to work You can also purchase dedicated high speed internet for your cottage through CogecoThere are also many satellite TV companies that service the resort as well as wireless internet options Cogeco Canada 1-866-216-0045 | Cogeco USA 1-800-565-0273
Does Sherkston Shores have a boat launch and or boat docksDue to Lake Eriersquos unpredictable water conditions we do not have boat docks When boats are on the lake you are more than welcome to anchor beyond the buoys when parked We do not have a boat launch either due to the same unpredictable water conditions however you may launch your boat off the sandy shores in designated areas on both Elco Beach and Wyldewood Beach (motorized watercraft are not allowed in the Quarry) When using the shoreline launch owners must launch their boat and then remove their vehicle and trailer from the designated area
If I own a boatwatercraft where can I park itPlease see Security to register your watercraft In the process you will be assigned with a designated parking spot Watercraft that are parked in a non-designated parking spot are subject to removal
Can I rent my vacation cottagetrailer How do I rent my vacation cottagetrailerSherkston Shores offers a professionally managed rental program where we handle everything from finding the customer checking the guests in and out cleaning the cottage and handling of issues that may arise To see if your cottage qualifies for Sherkstonrsquo s rental program please visit the Welcome Centre and speak with one of our vacation specialists
Alternatively our owners can rent their cottages privately Please ensure a private rental agreement has been filled out and submitted to the Welcome Centre prior to your guests checking in These forms are available at the welcome center or for download on wwwSherkstonOwnerscom Ask our team for more information regarding privately renting your vacation cottage conditions apply
If I choose to rent my vacation cottagetrailer privately are my amenity passes includedYour amenity picture passes are only applicable for you and the registered names on your account and must be worn to access the resort access the waterpark andor exclusive owner areas Your private renters must purchase amenity passes for their stay from the Welcome Centre See Appendix A for rates

Does it cost extra for my family and friends to visit me at my vacation cottageWe want your family and friends to visit Owners are required to set up a password with the Welcome Centre to be used to allow their guests into the park Guests must give the owners name site number and password in order to gain entry to the resort Your password can be reset at any given time
Are the activities included in the feesMost activities such as the water park mini putt kids club and our Owners LifestyleEvents Programming are included for anyone on your site with a valid owners pass (additional fees may apply) Some additional amenities such as Sherkston Paintball Sherkston Axe Throwing Quarry Beach Rentals Sherkston Adventure Sports require an additional charge
Our LifestyleEvents Programming calendar is jam packed with entertainment however there are some events which may require an additional fee Registration and payment for events can be found on your Owners Exclusive website wwwSherkstonOwnerscom
How do I winterizesummerize my cottageEmpire Contracting can perform this service for a minimal fee Forms are available at the Welcome Centre or for download on wwwSherkstonOwnerscom
Can I make changes to the insideoutside of my cottageYes you can make changesrenovations however all outside alterations MUST be pre-approved by Sherkston Shores and requires a permit provided by Sherkston Shores Please visit the Welcome Centre for full details or view on your Owners Exclusive website wwwSherkstonOwnerscom
Can I bring in my own golf cart or do I need to purchase one from Sherkston ShoresSherkston Shores does not sell golf carts however our authorized dealer Birdie Golf Carts is located on-site where you can purchase a cart and have service done Birdie Golf Carts also rents golf carts and provides winter storage You may purchase a cart from elsewhere but it must be electric You will need to provide proof of insurance (min $1000000 liability) proof of ownership and your golf cart headlights and taillights must be in full working order You must register your golf cart with Sherkston Shores security
Can my children drive the golf cartALL drivers of golf carts must be 25 years of age or older or hold a full valid G license Those found driving a golf cart without such will result in fines and possible golf cart removal from the resort
Do we as owners get discounts on stays for our family and friends here at SherkstonYou sure do All owners receive 20 stays (RV tent or vacation rentals) for your family and friends to stay Excludes holiday weekends and lakefrontwaterfront RV sitescottage rentals Other terms and conditions may apply Please contact the Welcome Centre for full details
How do I order propanePropane is purchased at the Welcome Center in person or over the phone Payment must be made prior to delivery Propane is guaranteed same day delivery if the order is placed prior to 12pm noon Your propane tanks must be unlocked at time of delivery If your tanks are ldquored taggedrdquo propane will not be delivered It is recommended that you order propane once one (1) tank is empty and not wait until they both become empty Please call or visit the welcome center to place an order
How can I sign up for Owner events amp can I bring my friendsfamilyOwners events are available for sign up not earlier than 10am two weeks prior to the event by visiting wwwSherkstonOwnerscom One guest per owner with a valid Owner picture pass presented at the event amp Eventbrite (Event Registration) confirmation number for each person All attendees must have a valid owner picture pass
Can we have mailpackages delivered to the resort Owners are not allowed to use Sherkston Shores as a mailing address nor as a permanent residence Packages which arrive at the resort addressed to an Owner will be returned Please use the post office for general delivery options (Ridgeway or Port Colborne)
What do I do in the case of an emergency The safety of everyone within Sherkston Shores is our number one concern Should an incident occur where the assistance of emergency services is needed (police paramedic fire department etc) please dial 9-1-1 and then follow-up by contacting our security team Our security team will then meet the emergency services at the main gates to escort them to the location of the incident
Who is responsible for the cutting of my grassLawn maintenance is included within your annual site fees Our grounds keeping team will cut your lawn based on a set schedule once per week however this may vary due to weather Should you not require our team to provide lawn services a designated sign can be picked up from our Welcome Centre and must be placed in visible sight on our lawn This will let our team know not to cut your grass Gardens on sites are not the responsibility of our team
Does Sherkston Shores allow dogs at the resortThe dog beach located at the far end of Elco beach near the Sherkston property boundaries have notime restrictions however rules of the Dog Beach are posted and must be adhered to Dogs are notpermitted on the remaining beach areas between the hours of 10am and 6pm Designated off-leash dog parks are located near the soccer fields and near the campground Be aresponsible pet owners and remember to pick up after your pet
Where do I take my garbage How often does garbage get picked-up from my placeGarbage and recycling do not get picked-up directly from your vacation cottage Owners must bring their garbagerecycling to the designated depots throughout the resort Please note that we do not offer green bin composting Improper lsquodumpingrsquo of garbage will result in fines posted to your owner account For larger items such as appliances ndash please call or visit the Welcome Centre to put in a work order

Who is responsible for removal of unwanted wildlife at my vacation cottagetrailerSherkston Shores recommends taking precautionary steps to protect your vacation cottagetrailer from being damaged by natural habitat of wildlife including bees mice rats skunks raccoons etc Seasonal Occupants are prohibited from the trapping of wildlife and are discouraged from feeding the wildlife Sherkston at no time shall be liable for any damages caused by these animals to a vacation cottagetrailer under any circumstances Sherkston Shores is NOT responsible for the removal or costs associated with pestanimal control of wildlife bees mice rats raccoons etc Please contact a local pest control company
Can I bring a guest into the pool area at the Funplex Waterpark One (1) guest per seasonal occupant pass is allowed Additional passes can be purchased from the Welcome Centre for your additional guest at an Owner discounted rate of $15adult and $10child Children 5 and under are free
Can I bring a guest into the exclusive lounge area within the pool at the Funplex Waterpark One (1) guest per seasonal occupant pass is allowed
Can I bring a guest into Wyldewood Beach Clubhouse Guests are not allowed into Wyldewood Beach Clubhouse
Can I bring a guest into Quarry Meadows Clubhouse Guests are not allowed into Quarry Meadows Clubhouse

When I have guests and my parking is full where can they parkEach park modelRV site is allotted parking for no more than two vehicles Additional motor vehiclesboats jet skis watercraft and their related trailers as well as utility trailers must be parked indesignated parking areas and must be registered with the Welcome Centre unless otherwise approvedby Sherkston Shores
Parking is not permitted between or next to sites Visitorsguests must use the overflow parking at the Welcome Centre Sherkston Team Member parking is for use of team members only and non-team member vehicles may be towed at ownerrsquos expense All guests must display a valid parking pass
How can I make payments on my account ie credit card cheque cash or online paymentsForms of payment accepted via phone or in person (may vary)

If I am doing online payments what is my account numberWe offer online payment for those with Canadian bank institutions only
1 Simply log-in to your online banking website 2 Add ldquoSherkston Shoresrdquo as a payee 3 You will then be prompted to enter your account Your Account is always 6 digits
beginning with 3 letter abbreviation of the community you are in followed by the 3 digit site number For example WBC000 This account number can be found at the top right corner of all statementsinvoices

What are the procedures if I would like to sellWe understand the familyrsquos dynamics wants needs change over years and although we never like seeing our owners leave we acknowledge the time may come to sell Please contact our Sales Team for more information regarding sellingPlease note whether you choose to sell privately our via our professional sales team 10 commission is paid to Sherkston Shores at the time of saleOnly Sherkston Shores provided and approved lsquoFOR SALErsquo signs are allowed to be posted on a site during time of saleThe new owner will be required to pay an administration fee of $399 at the time of sale

Can I bring in my own golf cart or do I need to purchase one from Sherkston ShoresSherkston Shores does not sell golf carts however our authorized dealer Birdie Golf Carts is located on-site where you can purchase a cart and have service done Birdie Golf Carts also rents golf carts and provides winter storage You may purchase a cart from elsewhere but it must be electric You will need to provide proof of insurance (min $1000000 liability) proof of ownership and your golf cart headlights and taillights must be in full working order You must register your golf cart with Sherkston Shores security
Can my children drive the golf cartALL drivers of golf carts must be 25 years of age or older or hold a full valid G license Those found driving a golf cart without such will result in fines and possible golf cart removal from the resort

How do I order propanePropane is purchased at the Welcome Center in person or over the phone Payment must be made prior to delivery Propane is guaranteed same day delivery if the order is placed prior to 12pm noon Your propane tanks must be unlocked at time of delivery If your tanks are ldquored taggedrdquo propane will not be delivered It is recommended that you order propane once one (1) tank is empty and not wait until they both become empty Please call or visit the welcome center to place an order
How can I sign up for Owner events amp can I bring my friendsfamilyOwners events are available for sign up not earlier than 10am two weeks prior to the event by visiting wwwSherkstonOwnerscom One guest per owner with a valid Owner picture pass presented at the event amp Eventbrite (Event Registration) confirmation number for each person All attendees must have a valid owner picture pass
Can we have mailpackages delivered to the resort Owners are not allowed to use Sherkston Shores as a mailing address nor as a permanent residence Packages which arrive at the resort addressed to an Owner will be returned Please use the post office for general delivery options (Ridgeway or Port Colborne)
What do I do in the case of an emergency The safety of everyone within Sherkston Shores is our number one concern Should an incident occur where the assistance of emergency services is needed (police paramedic fire department etc) please dial 9-1-1 and then follow-up by contacting our security team Our security team will then meet the emergency services at the main gates to escort them to the location of the incident
Who is responsible for the cutting of my grassLawn maintenance is included within your annual site fees Our grounds keeping team will cut your lawn based on a set schedule once per week however this may vary due to weather Should you not require our team to provide lawn services a designated sign can be picked up from our Welcome Centre and must be placed in visible sight on our lawn This will let our team know not to cut your grass Gardens on sites are not the responsibility of our team
Does Sherkston Shores allow dogs at the resortThe dog beach located at the far end of Elco beach near the Sherkston property boundaries have notime restrictions however rules of the Dog Beach are posted and must be adhered to Dogs are notpermitted on the remaining beach areas between the hours of 10am and 6pm Designated off-leash dog parks are located near the soccer fields and near the campground Be aresponsible pet owners and remember to pick up after your pet
Where do I take my garbage How often does garbage get picked-up from my placeGarbage and recycling do not get picked-up directly from your vacation cottage Owners must bring their garbagerecycling to the designated depots throughout the resort Please note that we do not offer green bin composting Improper lsquodumpingrsquo of garbage will result in fines posted to your owner account For larger items such as appliances ndash please call or visit the Welcome Centre to put in a work order
