A video game developer creates games includes the graphics and the storyline. They can also concentrate in one game

console. Examples for this are they publish Microsoft's Xbox 360 and the Nintendo DS. They may also produce games for

people to download on computers , mobile phones and also for people to play from all around the world.

Some game developers convert games to different languages in order for them to sell around the world. Most develops

work on adapting software of games on systems.

There are three different types of developers

First party (in house) only work with one console manufacturer

Third party (in house) they work for a specific video game publisher which is often owned by them.

Independent developers do not work with particular video game publishers or console manufacture they work alone. This

type of developers are becoming very rare as they are l inked to a manufacture or publisher.

Codemasters was founded in 1986 (UK)by Richard and David Darling.

The genres of game the company mostly produce are they have a majority of driving games, RPGs/ MMORPGs, sports game

and Strategy games. They also have other game titles which they least produce, an example for this is music games.

The company is an independent developer and is Europe's largest independent developer and publisher of video games and

Vision New Media SDN BHD. Codemasters Studios, Malaysia is the only foreign operation for Codemasters UK. The company

work by themselves and do not work with any video games publisher or any console manufacturer. Codemasters are

working on developing their business this is by delivering game development services to many other international gamedevelopers to grow into an even more independent games developer business.

Codemasters are targeted towards both genders and all ages. This is because they produce different ranges of games which

would appeal to people with different interests. An example is Dance Factory this would appeal mainly to girls. Where as

Superstars V8 Racing would mainly be targeted towards boys as they have cars from top leading manufactures such as BMW,

Jaguar and many more. They also have world famous places for players to enjoy challenges from Europe to south Africa.

Codemasters is known to be one of the oldest game developer for a British company. The Development Magazine which is a

international journal for the games developer chose codemaster to be the top and successful independent games developer.

Rockstar is a British games developer which was founded in 2001 in Scotland by Sam Houser, Dan Houser, Terry Donovan, Jamie King

and Gary Foreman who are all British game developer producers.

The genre that Rockstar North are focused on are action for all of their games, examples for this are The Warriors, Agent, Grand

Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars . However they do not work on any other types of genre.

Rockstar is a third party this is because they are linked with the company and are also owned by a American publisher who is Take

two interactive.

Rockstar is the top games developer in the world, they are also known as Rockstar games Inc.

The company changed its name from being DMA Design to Rockstar North so that there would be a tighter grouping with other

Rockstar Games.

Rockstar North have Published many games such as : Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, The

Warriors, Smuggler's Run, Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition, Manhunt 2, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, Grand Theft Auto: San
