Having been properly noticed for a formal hearing and having appeared, Jockey Hizain Solis Camacho (ADG #20751) is hereby suspended five (5) racing days (January 1,4,5,6,7, 2019, inclusive) for failure to make sufficient effort to maintain a straight course in the stretch aboard #1 DESERT SCORPION in the first (1st) race on December 22, 2019, causing interference to multiple horses. An aggravating factor considered in this ruling is this is the second time within the last sixty days Mr. Camacho has failed to make sufficient effort to maintain a straight course. This suspension does not preclude Jockey Hizain Solis Camacho from riding in designated races. The above described matter constitutes a violation in accordance with: A.A.C. Race 2: The distance of this race was changed to ‘about’ 6 ½ furlongs. It was announced to the public that there would be no show wagering on this race due to field size scratching down to four (4) horses. Race 3: #7 MAUNEY was put on the Stewards List for bearing out badly in the turn. Race 4: It was announced to the public that this race would be off the turf and on the main track at a distance of one (1) mile. STEWARDS INQUIRY/2 JOCKEY OBJECTIONS/NEAR 5/16THS POLE/NO CHANGE: Following the running of the race the stewards posted the inquiry sign due to an incident near the 5/16ths pole of the race. There were also two jockey objections. Scott Stevens, the rider of third place finisher #5 POCO SUENOS, lodged an objection against first place finisher #9 ATHENA THE GODDESS, ridden by Francisco Garcia, alleging interference in the turn. Also, Kassie Guglielmino, the rider of fourth place finisher #3 HERE’SLOOKINATYA lodged an objection against #9 ATHENA THE GODDESS, also alleging interference in the turn. After reviewing the videos and taking testimony from the riders involved, the stewards determined that #9 ATHENA THE GODDESS was on the inside, #3 HERE’SLOOKINATYA was just outside of that one and #5 POCO SUENOS was just outside both of them and inside of #7 YOU GOT THIS when she checked sharply near the 5/16ths pole, but the films were inconclusive as to which horse was at fault, therefore the stewards did not make any change to the original order of finish. The official order of finish is as follows: 9-7-5-3-4-2. Race 5: The distance of this race was changed to ‘about’ 6 ½ furlongs. After reviewing the videos and taking testimony from starter Darrin Hall and the rider involved, the stewards determined that the starting gate of #4 EL BORRADITO opened in unison with the rest of the field and the assistant starter released the horse properly. Race 1: None Race 2: STEWARDS INQUIRY/SPILL/START/NO CHANGE: Following the running of the race the stewards posted the inquiry sign due to an incident at the start of the race involving #1 PAPA MAMBO, whose rider, CHAD LINDSAY, was unseated at the start. After reviewing the videos the stewards determined that #1 PAPA MAMBO stumbled of her own accord unseating her rider. This action was not caused by any other horse, therefore the stewards did not make any change to the original order of finish. The official order of finish is as follows: 4-3-5-2-(#1 Lost Rider). Race 3: None Race 4: There was a seven (7) way shake for #8 THIN LINE. Race 5: 2 JOCKEY OBJECTIONS/GOING INTO TURN/NO CHANGE: Following the running of the race there were two jockey objections that did not involve the first four finishers. Luis Valenzuela, the rider of ninth place finisher #2 LITTLE RED RUBY, and Alex Anaya, the rider of eighth place finisher #3 SHE GOT AWAY lodged objections against seventh place finisher #4 ME FIRST, ridden by Denny Velazquez, alleging interference going into the turn. After reviewing the videos and taking testimony from the riders involved, the stewards determined that both #2 LITTLE RED RUBY and #3 SHE GOT AWAY did check briefly in tight quarters between horses going into the turn but the films were inconclusive as to any interference that took place, therefore the objection was disallowed. The official order of finish is as follows: 9-1-5-6-8-7-4-3-2. Race 6: #9 HONEY BAY BEE fell after the race, walked into the horse ambulance and was vanned off. Race 7: None Race 8: None
