cents cash paid back to the school PTO. A collection box is located in the Flex

A great big thank you to the University of Kansas

UKan Teach students, Boys and Girls Staff, and all

the Hillcrest staff who came together to make

Family Math night a great success. Over 100 stu-

ties. (Pictured above is a math mural students

completed throughout the evening.)

KINDNESS COUNTS AT HILLCREST

As part of our Red Ribbon Week celebration Hill-

crest students campaigned to help a classroom

impacted by the hurricane. Student council set a

goal of raising $350.00 in donations to support

one classroom. Hillcrest families, students, and

staff embraced the challenge. Together the Hill-

crest community raised $888.34! Our donation

is going to a school in Texas and will support

multiple classrooms! A big thank you to Mrs.

Lofflin’s 5th grade class who supported the cause

by helping collect coins after school and making

car donation envelops. Also a big thank you to

the MERC who donated a healthy snack to each

classroom as a thank you for supporting an edu-

cational community in need.
