In 1989 John Deere and Hitachi created Deere-Hitachi (DH) a joint venture company to build excavators in Kernersville, North Carolina. This factory is manufacturing most of the John Deere and Hitachi “mid sized” excavators sold in North America. Recognizing that their products were being purchased, heavily modified and then used in the forestry industry, Deere-Hitachi formed Deere-Hitachi Specialty Products (DHSP) in Langley, British Columbia in 1999. The focus of the new business was to manufacture purpose built forestry swing machines (FSM’s) for John Deere and Hitachi. Together with the support of their parent companies, DHSP has focused on designing and manufacturing their FSM’s to deliver on their value proposition of “Productivity, Uptime & Low Daily Operating Cost”. To date DHSP FSM’s are the market leaders in their industry, and are shipped to customers worldwide.

Since 1987, PicQuic’s primary goal has been to provide a product that is as good or better than high quality single blade screwdrivers, yet with all the convenience of multiple bits in one handle. Their objective is not to store the highest number of bits in any handle, but to put the right bits in the right handle. PicQuic combines this philosophy with the highest grade materials and attention to detail to ensure consistently superior, long lasting products that solve particular problems or make tasks easier for people. Using a mix of old fashioned ‘workhorse’ machines along with high technology machinery which they have built for their specific component’s needs, PicQuic employs modern manufacturing processes so that they can keep their products affordable for anyone that appreciates true quality and functionality.

For more than a century the name Ironside has been synonymous with metal working in Chilliwack, British Columbia. Starting as Ironside Blacksmith Shop in 1902 the founder, George Ironside, began looking after the metal working needs of the local community.Along with several location changes within Chilliwack, Ironside Blacksmith Shop became Ironsides Ltd, then Ironsides Machining & Welding Ltd., then IMW Industries Ltd. (IMW)In 1965, IMW designed one of the world’s first machines to make helical lock-seam pipe, establishing itself as the leading supplier of complete pipe manufacturing systems in the corrugated steel pipe (CSP) industry. Today, from their 70,000 square foot, well equipped facility, the Ironside name again lives on as Ironside Design Manufacturing Inc. (IDM), where they continue their leadership in the CSP industry and support a vast network of pipe producers worldwide.
