Mini Spares Helical GearKitfor classic Minis

Mini Spares has just released its own newprofile helical cut gears for the 4 synchromeshgearbox. The gears have been cut toClubman ratios and are stronger and quieterthan the originals.

The teeth are a different shape and angle andhave a wider profile (of at least 2-4mm more)than any of the original helical gears made forthe Mini.

For the final stage of development Mini Spares enlisted the services of Bill Richards to testthe gears in his racing Mini equipped with a 160hp, 8 port head engine and Mini Spares twinpin diff. Testing took place at Brands Hatch over 400 grueling laps.

The gear set has also been fitted in Mini Spares’ own road car for some time and hasreceived rave reviews for its great ratios and quietness.
