Conducted a 3 weeks induction program as per the mandate given by AICTE. The program consisted
of lectures by eminent speakers and industry experts, Site visits, Sessions on - Creative Arts, UHV,
Literary & Proficiency skills, Plantation, Yoga, Zumba and many more.
The induction program began on August 1, 2019 with the registration of new students. The students
came from different states and were excited, curious and at the same time had queries too, which
were addressed by the faculty team during the registration process. After the registration, Orientation
session was conducted where the students were welcomed and briefed about the institute followed
by interaction session with the faculty members of the institute.
Next day, the students were given the program overview in which they were informed about the
B.Des. Program and its curriculum. A diagnostic test was conducted to evaluate the aptitude, creative
abilities and skill sets of the students so that their strengths and weaknesses can be understood and
the teaching pedagogy can be made to address and cater to all students. This was followed by the
campus walkthrough in which students were given guided tour of the campus and informed about the
facilities like- library, class studios, tutorial rooms, labs etc. In the post lunch session, the students
were addressed by the Director of the institute - Prof. Virendra Pathak, and were told about the
institute and its initiatives for students.

In the following day the students had a creative session where they were tasked with creating an
alien while collaborating with each other. This activity helped in building up their team work & creative
abilities. This was followed by a literary session on book reading. Later student clubs were formed
followed by a session of Rapid Sketching where the students were asked to draw a product as quickly
as possible. Their sketching time was monitored and students understood how rapid sketching could
be used to pen down ideas in seconds.
Next day, classes of Universal Human Values (UHV) were taken and students were taught how they
play an important role in the life of human at various stages including education and career. Further in
the day, the students got a chance to meet Senior Professor of Fine Arts Mr. Meraj Waseem where
the students got to know about graphic design, learned how to use them and made some artworks to
show how to transform asymmetry drawing to a symmetry drawing.

In the following day an energetic lecture about “Power of Words” was given by Mr Amit Pandey. He
filled the students with enthusiasm and left a smile on every student’s faces.

This was followed by a session of Doodle Art where they practiced to make straight lines and shapes
to make their sketching skill more perfect. Post lunch the students were taken for a visit to an NGO
called GOONJ where the students saw how they designed solutions from waste material to support
the poor and also how they provide help to calamity afflicted areas.

On the next day, talk on Entrepreneurship was given by Mr Mahendra Kumar where he showed the
path of start up to our students. Next, the students had a talk with University Industry Interface Cell
Director Mrs Babita G. Kataria and Asst. Director Mr Vineet Nehra, where they were informed about
Job placements. They were also given advice about how to present themselves when applying for a
job. The following session was on Origami. The students were provided papers and they created
Lantern and flower vases with it.
On the next day, yoga activity session was taken by Mr. Kumar Sambhav where he taught
various yoga postures or 'asanas' , pranayam that aim to keep the body and mind healthy. The next
session was conducted by Mr. Apurv Jain in which he discussed about maximizing business side of
design process.

On the following day the students had an interactive talk with Mr. Amit Pathak, CEO & Co-founder,
Shellios. He showed the students their smart range of products and exchanged views.

The next day was spent with the entire college planting trees and nurturing the environment.

Independence Day was celebrated with amazing performances by the students where they hosted,
recited, sang, danced and even acted. Posters created by students were pasted throughout the
college campus.

On the next day, the students had a session on Product Enact Play where they were divided in
groups and tasked with designing a product, and conduct a play where they advertised their Product.
This was followed by a session where students were asked to speak on a given topic. The students’
body language were observed and they were enlightened on the same.
On the following day, the students were taken for a visit to National Science Center Delhi. They got to
know about Indian history, weaponry, monuments and also various things related to science. Later,
they were taken to Waste to Wonder, where all the 7 wonders were made from scrap. The students
got to learn how to upcycle trash into something of worth.

On the following day, a session of face painting was conducted where students were tasked with
drawing on each other’s faces on the theme of tribal art. After lunch, they had interaction session with
the students of senior batches.

On next day ,Ms Navalpreet Kaur engaged the students with an energetic session of Zumba in which
the students had a great time during the session. On the same day the students were tasked to
express their personality on a paper using various craft materials.

A visit to National Small Industries Corporation was arranged, where the students got to learn about
how a small industry is set up and how it is managed. They also got some hands on experience on
various small industries and their manufacturing techniques like how a tissue paper or a bakery
factory works.
On the last day evaluation tests were conducted for UHV and Creative Arts, where students shared
their newly found wisdom on various aspects of life. The students were also asked to give feedback
on the entire program about their experiences and take aways. Finally, the induction program ended
with various presentations by the student groups which was attended by all the faculty members and
Director Sir. Overall, the induction program concluded on a high note which formed a strong
foundation for the upcoming Academic session.
