Chapter 1 - Introduction:

The SAVIOR Enrollment and Template management Station software is made for the User Template Enrollment and Deployment on the SAVIOR Biometric readers for 1: N identification. Two fingers are enrolled for each user. The Employee ID (Card Number) in 8 characters alphanumeric, Name in 16 characters alphanumeric and Remarks in 50 characters alphanumeric are also entered by the user and are stored along with the enrolled fingerprint template. The user is presented with a complete GUI during the finger enrollment which enables the user to get the best possible templates.

Chapter 2 - Minimum Configuration :

Minimum configuration for SAVIOR Enrollment Station 3.0 1. Processor 2.4 GHz or better.2. 1 GB or higher RAM.3. 300 MB of Installation space.4. Microsoft Windows 2003/Windows 2008/ Windows XP (SP2)/VISTA/Windows 7.5. Microsoft .NET Framework 3.56. For Microsoft SQL-Server 2005 or above (License copy to be provided by the customer).7. For Oracle Version 8i or above (License copy to be provided by the customer).8. Necessary user name and password with (Connect & Resource) privilege will be required in case ofOracle Database. Oracle Client will have to be installed at Client nodes in case of Oracle Database.9. Laser jet/Ink Jet/Dot Matrix 132 column Printer with Condense and CPI selection options. Performance in an environment having lower configurations than those mentioned above is notassured. Also performance at the client nodes will depend upon the Network Configurations andspeed. For substantial Speed and Performance SAVIOR recommends for the best Hardware Configurationavailable in the market.

Chapter 3 - User Interface:

3.1 Installation Step :1. Windows Installer 3.1 is required to run the setup.2. Check whether framework 3.5 is available (control panel/program feature)

or not if not found thenthis need to be installed, from CD (..\

SAVIOR_Enroll3\SupportSetups\DotNetFX35\dotNetFx35setup.exe)3. Run Setup.exe4. Run Enrollment Station Exe (with Run as Administrator in Windows 7). Login

as admin withpassword admin.5. When Database configuration screen appears, specify the User Id, password,

DSN.6. Click on the Save Button. Now click on the Test button to test the Database

connectivity. WhenDatabase connectivity is successful, click on the Close button.7. Now Login as User: Admin and Password: admin.

Welcome to Installation of SAVIOR Enrollment Station 3.0

1. Insert the installation CD into the CD drive and wait some time so that it is sensed by the system.2. Using My Computer or Windows Explorer access the CD drive.3. Select the folder SAVIOR_Enroll3.4. Double click on the SETUP.EXEWelcome to Installation of SAVIOR Enrollment Station 3.0

5. Select the ‘I accept the terms in the license agreement’ option and then select ‘Next>’.

6. On the next screen you will be asked for the installation folder. By default the system will install it in D:\SAVIOR\SAVIOR_Enroll3 folder. If you want to change it you can change it at this point by clicking on the BROWSE button and click on the NEXT button. If you want the default then simply select next. The following screen will appear.

7. Click on the ‘Install’ Button to start Installation.

* Please ignore if oleaut32.dll fail to copy into system32.Application Icons for this S/W will be automatically created on

the Desktop as well as in Startup menu.

Menu Description

Chapter 4 – Administration:

** Database configuration is compulsory before enrollment operation starts. Please see 4.3- Database Configuration.On starting the software, a user login screen will appear. A user must give a Login ID and Password for logging into the software.

The users can created using the User Management option under the Administration menu and discussed later in this document.

4.1 – Reader Configuration:

This option is available under the Administration menu. After the successful installation of the software you need to configure the communication medium and the corresponding reader ID against each communication port needs to be defined. The communication medium can be either Serial (RS232) or Network.

If Serial mode is selected, the user then needs to specify the Reader ID, Reader Type, Port Number and Baud Rate for the data communication. The Baud Rate for the Reader Types 80XX and 81XX should be 9600 and for 82XX & 84XX it should be 57600.

If Network mode is selected, the user needs to enter the IP address , TCP Port and select the Reader ID and Reader Type and Location from the list. Refer Fig. 2

To remove an existing configuration, the user needs to select the entry from the list and then click the Remove button.

4.2 – Reader Template Management:Under the Administration menu, is operable with the SAVIOR 84XX readers. These readers have the feature to enroll the users at the reader level for 1: N usage. Standard USB Keyboard can be plugged in to the 84XX reader for inputting the Employee ID and Name for the enrollment process and to for the user interaction during the enrollment process. Thus no MSO 300 is required for this enrollment. Refer Fig. 3. Once the users are enrolled at the reader level, their enrollment data can be downloaded to the PC level central database for future use. An option under the Reader Template Management provides this feature.

You can select the reader for you use by clicking on the Active Reader text. Once the active reader is selected and connection is opened successfully, click on the Synchronies Reader and PC Enrollment Databases for getting the PC databases updated with the new enrollment done on the Active reader. In case any Paycode already exists in the PC database, it will not be updated in case the same Paycode is re-enrolled in any reader. To update the biometric information, you need to remove the record from all the readers to which it was uploaded and then it should be removed from the PC database. After this the same paycode can be enrolled.

4.3 - Database Configuration:

The Enrollment data can be stored in either MS Access, Oracle or MS SQL Server databases for future use. This screen provides a window to the user for specifying the database configuration settings.Create ODBC by selecting Microsoft Access Driver and select the enroll mdb path and save it Refer

4.4 - Change Password:• Once a user logs in with a valid User ID and Password, he can

change his own password by selecting the Change Password option from the Administration menu.

4.5- User Management:• You can create logins for users with appropriate user rights

for controlling the various activities of this software. • The User Name can be a maximum of 20 characters

alphanumeric and the Password can be of maximum of 12 characters alphanumeric .

5.1 Enrollment

5.1.1 Enroll: To capture the finger image of a user, select the Enroll option. The screen that comes in front is shown in Fig. 10. You can specify the Paycode (this will appear on the reader display in place of the Card Number once the finger is properly identified), Name (this will appear as the Name on the reader display). The Remarks is optional. The Paycode can be maximum of 8 characters, Name can be of 16 characters and remarks can be of 50 characters.

To capture the first finger image, click on the Capture Left Hand Finger button. The enrollment sensor will glow (do remember to connect the Enrollment sensor MSO 1300 or MSO 300 to the USB port). Place the finger on the sensor three times (the system will ask you to put your finger and remove you finger). If the image captured is ok, the red cross mark will become green right mark. Otherwise, the system will ask you to capture the image again. If the finger is not getting properly, you can reduce the Acquisition Quality and try again. Remember that the preferred value is 050. If you try to enroll a finger with low acquisition quality, it may not be properly deployed to the savior 8000 readers in the later stage.•Once the first finger is enrolled, the similar exercise has to be repeated with the second finger by clicking on the Capture Right Hand Finger. To save both the images, click on the Save Template button. Please remember that you have to enroll both the fingers to save the template. The grid shows the list of already saved templates that can be deployed to the Savior 8000 readers.

5.1.3 Verify: You can check a saved template for its properness by selecting the Verify button. To verify, click on the row of the grid, and then click on the Verify button. The sensor will glow and you have to put the right finger on the sensor. If the captured image matches with the already enrolled template, you get message of match successful .5.1.4 Remove: To remove an enrolled finger, select the row and click the Remove button. Please note that if a template has been uploaded to any Savior 8000 series of reader, system will allow to remove it from the database directly without removing it from the reader first,

5.1.2 Assign:Once a user has been enrolled, you can assign / de-assign readers against him/her. System will record these transactions against the user for Addition / Removal. Multiple readers can be assigned / de-assigned against a user. Later you can upload / remove a user’s fingerprint data to/from a SAVIOR reader in one go. System will take up all the Addition/Removal transactions posted against the selected user and execute the Upload/Removal activity. Once the transaction is done successfully, the transaction entry will be removed. By clicking on the Remove Pending Transactions, you can cancel any pending Add/Remove request against the selected user.You can freshly post any previously executed transaction against the selected user by clicking on the Repost Transactions button.You can post a fresh transaction by clicking on the Update New Transactions button.Once the finger is enrolled, it is ready for the deployment (uploaded to the Savior 8000 readers). It is to be noted that the enrollment is to be done only once and thereafter it can be uploaded to any number of Savior 800 readers. To upload the templates to the readers, click on the Template Deployment button. The grid will appear with the Enrollment data that can be deployed to the readers.

5.2 Template Deployment:Before you upload the template to the Savior 8000 reader, you must the right reader by Right clicking or Double clicking on the word Active Reader. You will get a screen shown in Fig. 16. Now click on the row whose data you want to upload. Then click on the Upload To Reader button. If the template is successfully uploaded to the reader, then that row will become blue other wise you get the error message and the row will remain white in color. If the Auto Mode option is selected, the software will go on uploading the fingerprint templates to the current Active Reader one by one, starting from the current grid row position till the end, automatically.

5.2.3 Remove from reader:You can remove an already uploaded template from the Savior 8000 series of reader. For this click on the row whose data is to be removed from the Savior reader. Then click on the Remove from Reader button. Please remember to be sure that you have selected the right reader under the Active Reader caption. Once it is removed from the reader, its color will change to white otherwise it will remain blue. You can remove the fingerprint template either from the Active Reader only or from all the readers on which it is currently deployed on one go.5.2.4 FAR Setting:You can change the FAR (False Acceptance Rate). You can select a value from 3, 4 or 5. This needs to be moved towards the higher side in case the users are falsely recognized as some other user. The default value of FAR in the reader is 3. You can also see the current FAR of the reader. 5.2.5 Restore to Reader:You can restore all existing finger print template in to reader after changing of bio metric sensor under the Restore to Reader.

5.2.1 Upload to Reader: You can execute the Add request transactions, posted through the Assign Reader option in the Enrollment section, by selecting the Assigned Readers option and then clicking on the Upload To Reader button.5.2.2 Reader database info:You can view the template database information of the Active Reader by clicking on the Reader database Info button.
