Mountain View USGA Rules Govern All Play with the Following Exceptions: “Desert Rule:” Under penalty of one stroke, a player may take relief from the desert area by dropping the ball within two club lengths of the nearest point of grass relief, no nearer the hole. (Unless otherwise stated in an official event’s rule sheet) All water hazards are considered and should be played as a Lateral Water Hazard. (Unless otherwise stated in an official event’s rule sheet) Any sand areas that are enclosed by grass or grass and rock are considered hazards. (You may not ground your club) Any sand areas that border desert area or water are to be played as a waste area. (You may ground your club and is not a hazard) Proper Etiquette: Proper golf attire is required at all times. Collared shirts for men, bermuda length shorts, no tank tops, cutoffs or denim is allowed. Soft spikes are preferred. For the enjoyment of your round and those behind you, please maintain your position with the group in front of you and do not worry about the group behind you. Golf cars must remain on the golf car’s concrete path or turf areas at all times. The desert vegetation is very susceptible to damage. Please assist us in preserving the natural setting by being extremely careful when venturing into our desert areas. Please properly repair two ball marks on every green. (Makes up for those that forget) Please rake sand hazards (waste areas are not to be raked) and fill your tee and fairway divots with the sand/seed mixture. Please remember: Your position on the golf course is related to the group in front of you and not the group behind you! Additional Notes: Out of bounds are defined by white stakes or lines, perimeter walls, snow fence, and hay bales. Yardage markers on the sprinkler heads and yardage stones are measured to the center of the green. The GPS yardage provided on the golf car is an approximate measurement to pin location. Restrooms are located at or near the following locations: Firecliff – 3 tee, 5, 9, 11, and 13 greens. Mountain View – 3, 9, 13, and 16 greens. As owners, the City of Palm Desert is proud that DesertWillow Golf Resort is irrigated with reclaimed water as part of a conservation effort. A special thanks to the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians for allowing us to replicate the Indian Canyons.
