apply • Successful coordination with Hazard Mitigation

Officers • Your questions!

Key Takeaways

• New $500 million grant program for disaster mitigation that prioritizes building codes

• Supports code adoption, implementation, training, certification, accreditation, and hardware/software needs

• States/localities with modern, well-enforced codes are more competitive applicants for mitigation projects

• Coordination with mitigation officials is key

A lifeline enables the continuous operation of critical government and business functions and is essential to human health and safety or economic security

Lifelines are the most fundamental services in the community that, when stabilized, enable all other aspects of society to function

Lifelines are the integrated network of assets, services, and capabilities that are used day-to-day to support the recurring needs of the community

When disrupted, decisive intervention (e.g., rapid service re-establishment or employment of contingency response solutions) is required to stabilize the incident

Community Lifelines/Defined
