U.S. VISA APPLICATION – UPDATED 21 September 2011 The U.S. Embassy has announced that with immediate effect, payment of the US visa application fee can only be made at Standard Chartered Bank. The application fee is SGD182. Fee Payment Options Cash at Bank

You can pay your visa application fee in cash at any Standard Chartered Bank branch (please

refer to the last page for a list of Standard Chartered Bank branches). You must bring your

passport or a copy of your passport's bio page to the bank when you pay the visa fee. At the bank,

you must write your passport number, fee payment amount and your telephone number on the US

visa fee collection slip available at Standard Chartered Bank. After receiving your payment, the

bank will give you a receipt.

Online Payment

If you have an account with Standard Chartered Bank you may choose to pay your visa application

fee online using Standard Chartered's online bill pay service at http://www.ustraveldocs.com/US-

Singapore/UI/BankGating/Gating.aspx.

Note: It is important that you correctly type your payment code (also called a UID) into the online

payment form when you pay your fee online. The payment code is created after you create your

online profile at the beginning of the online payment process. This code verifies your payment and

allows you to schedule your visa interview.

After you have paid the visa application fee, please keep the Standard Chartered Bank fee receipt.

Your visa application fee is non-refundable and you cannot transfer it to another person. The

receipt is valid for one year from the date of payment and allows you to schedule your interview at

the U.S. Embassy. If your receipt expires, you will not be able to schedule an interview, and you

must pay the fee again and begin the process anew.

Scheduling Your Interview

You must wait for 4 hours from the time you paid your fee before you can schedule your interview.

You can schedule your appointment online at http://www.ustraveldocs.com/sg/sg-niv-

appointmentschedule.html or contact the call center at 800 8523 800 (Monday - Friday from 8am to

In order to schedule an appointment, you must have the following information and documents

available:

A passport valid for travel to the United States with a validity date of at least six months Standard Chartered Bank fee receipt DS-160 confirmation page E-mail address

Collection of Visa Once your visa is approved, the Aramex courier service will return your passport at the address you specified when you scheduled your appointment. There are also options for self-collection of the visa at specific Aramex stations should you prefer, and you are allowed to change either delivery or self-collection options until midnight of your interview date. DS-160 The DS-160 form can be assessed via the following link: https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/. Instructions on how to use the form and a detailed FAQ can be found at the following link: http://travel.state.gov/visa/forms/forms_4401.html. Please note the following:

1. You do not need a photo to complete the online application. However, please bring one hard copy of a 5 x 5 photo to your interview. Photo specifications can be found at the following link: http://travel.state.gov/visa/visaphotoreq/visaphotoreq_5334.html.

2. Only the Form DS-160 will be accepted; you will not be permitted to attend your

interview without a DS-160 confirmation page. Once completed, the information in the DS-160 will be electronically transmitted. The applicant must then print the confirmation page that includes some biographical information and a bar code confirmation number. Applicants must bring the DS-160 confirmation page to their interview. You will not be permitted to interview for a visa without this confirmation page.

3. You do not need to bring a printed copy of your DS-160 to the Consular Section. You

would only need to bring the confirmation page, along with any other required/recommended documents, the list of which can be found on the same FAQ page (http://travel.state.gov/visa/forms/forms_4401.html, click on the link ‘What documents do I need to have with me while I complete the DS-160?).

4. The DS-160 will not permit applicants to skip questions. Failure to correctly answer

questions will prevent you from submitting the application.

Page 3: US+VISA+ +Step by Step+Guide+11Aug11[1]

5. You are still required to bring a passport photo to your interview, as well as payment

for fees and supporting documentation.

6. You will still be interviewed by a consular officer, when applicable, before you may receive a visa.

7. Processing time for approved visas will continue to be three working days including

the day of the interview.

8. As you fill up the visa application, save a copy on your hard drive and "save" often. (Click Save Save application to file Save As save it to your thumbdrive or your Desktop). Fill out all required information completely and correctly, including selecting the appropriate visa type. Significant errors or information marked as "N/A", "Nil", etc. may result in your application being rejected at the time of your interview. This would require you to complete the entire application again and to reschedule your interview.

It is important to note that applicants who arrive for an interview with errors in their form may be sent away to fill out a new form. The Embassy does not have authority to make changes to many of the fields in the application once it has been submitted electronically. Therefore, applicants are strongly advised to carefully proofread their applications before hitting the “submit” button.

Obtain the Company Letter You would need to obtain a Company issued letter. You can approach our Crew Services Helpdesk at STC 03A to obtain the letter. Claiming of Visa Fees

1) Submit your claim via ESS 2) Print a copy of your ESS claim form and submit it together with your Standard Chartered

bank fee receipt and visa receipt to our Crew Services Helpdesk at STC 03A for our processing.
