OverviewThe site is located at the center of Seoul, the capital of the Republic of Korea, andapproximately 50 km from Incheon International Airport.

The site is adjacent to Han River which runs from the middle of Seoul to the YellowSea. Yongsan District 2 is located in the center of Seoul and a core district thatconnects the three main CBDs (Gangbuk, Gangnam and Yeouido).

Subway lines (No.1, No.4 and No.6) intersect at Yongsan Station which is next toYongsan IBD and Riverside North Road runs on south of the site. It is also adjacentto excellent environments such as Han River, Nam Mt. and Yongsan Park.

Urban Railway network (safe, centralized railway system)

The two most important subway lines connect through Yongsan InternationalBusiness District. Traveling stays safe and convenient throughout Seoul as well asother metropolitan areas because two subway lines pass through Yongsan IBD.

Four subway lines connect from Yongsan Station: Line 1 (Yongsan Station,Namyeong Station), Line 4 (Sinyongsan Station, Samgakji Station, and IchonStation), Line 6 (Samgakji Station) and Central Line (Yongsan Station, Ichon Station).In addition, due to the crossing over of 2 lines, passengers can transfer at YongsanStation more easily.

Convenient trips to other provinces due to KTX passing through Yongsan Station &easy access to Yongsan Digital Complex and shopping malls.

The disconnected sector between Dongjakdaegyo and City Hall will be open anddirectly connected through the new YIBD roads under Yongsan Park. As a result,

this straightway will contribute to easier access to YIBD providing drivers with a moreconvenient route.

The next generation transportation system, magnetic levitation trains enable accessfrom Yongsan to Gangnam within 20 minutes. Gangnam has been considered as acoveted neighborhood for its upscale residences and affluent environment from thepoint of economy and culture in Korea. Its popularity will continue with the newSongpa Wirye town designed to disperse the population in Gangnam andconstruction of up to 45,000 houses near Gangnam.

MLT will provide an excellent train network with easy access to Yongsan SubwayLine 1, 2 and 12 train railroads including 7 KTX lines. The addition of MLT will

support YIBDs goal of becoming the centerof business, transportation and culture inKorea.

Yongsan Monorail (tentative) represents eco-friendly transportation. The newtransportation system integrates Yeouido Financial District and Seobu Ichon-donginto a new commuter belt. Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to utilize themonorail system to connect tourist attractions and cultural resources to a wide

network for YIBD and the Han River Renaissance Project. In particular, this plan willachieve economic benefits from geographical integration.

Monorail construction costs a third of general subway construction. This monorailcan be built up above the roads and rivers, and also significantly contributes to thereduction of CO2 emission, noise and the carbon footprint in line with sustainability.

Two GTX lines run through Yongsan

The underground express railway service running in the capital area has beennamed Great Train eXpress and announced to be completed in 2016.

GTX runs a total of 145.5km in three lines: Goyang KINTEX to Dongtan New City(74.8km), Uijeongbu to Gunpo Geujeong (49.3km), Cheongryangri to IncheonSongdo (49.9km).

These three lines of GTX will connect Seoul and Gyeonggi areas closely enough for

one to travel within one hour in these areas.

Yongsan has easy access, surrounded by the Han River to the south, the crucialpoint of transportation next to Namsan to the north.

In addition, many convenient facilities surround Yongsan National Park such ascommercial areas, the National Museum of Korea, the War Memorial of Korea andother large-scale cultural facilities like a cinema multiplex in Yongsan Station.

Yongsan site has various urban infrastructures such as Han River, Yongsan Park andcultural facilities.

However, railroad and Riverside North Road interrupt accessibility between east-

west sectors of the site and to Han River.

For this reason, Seoul city established Yongsan link that connects Yongsan Parkand front area of Yongsan Station and it would open to the water front throughbuilding green-park on the deck above railroads, and re-locating Riverside NorthRoad to underground.

Yongsan Link will establish the pedestrian and green network from Yongsan Park toHangang Park and Yongsan IBD would recreate cultural space in comfortable urbansetting.
