Drug use open to all eyes
The addiction path usually begins with substances like tobacco, alcohol, marijuana or with
household products that can be inhaled
A vicious cycle that never ends
Addiction cost is with human lives
Adolescents must be heard and respected

reported to the police
are runaways
Broken windows
Broken families
Broken homes
Homeless youth have it the hardest
“Youth living on the street or in correctional institutions are at high risk for HIV, hepatitis B and C and other blood borne diseases because they combine high levels of risky drug use with
high levels of risky sexual behaviour.”
Three options:Death, Jail, or Recovery
Stigma is one of the meanest and most difficult aspects of addiction. It makes it harder for individuals and families to deal with their problems and get the help they need
Society imposes stigma and its
damage
Addiction: is not a character flaw or weakness, it is a disease
Stigma includes Negativity, Prejudice and Discrimination
Challenge media that discriminate against addicts
Stigma: Invisible marks separating our
community
Helping those who need it most

Helping students so they can grow
Let’s clean up the streets together
We should not hide the
disease
Harm reduction plays an important role
Communication, education, and support
are essential
Psychiatric nurses
can make
a difference
Our city can be a better place
Nurses shine light to reduce stigma
Together we can stop the
cycle
The road to change is long, but worth it in the
end
There’s hope, we’re here to help
