Maximizing the mix!Whenitcomestopavementquality,segregationisoneofthecrucialproblemsinroadconstruction.IntheVISIONpavers,VÖGELEengineersincludeda number of technical innovations in order tosolvethisproblem:

-Theextremelynarrowconveyorhousinginthehopperprovidesoptimalmaterialdeliveryandeliminatescenterlinemarksinthemat.

-Higher dumping point for the material ontothe augers due to a front-to-rear inclinedconveyor. The material is dumped onto theaugersinsteadofbeingpressedintothem.

-Special design of the material hopperpreventsmixfromstickingandcreatesoptimalconditions for a consistent material flow.Thus,segregationisavoided.

-A small center auger box along with largeauger flights provides uniform spreading ofthematerialacrossthefullpavingwidth.

-To achieve this, separate drive and materialmonitoring is installedforeachconveyorandeachauger.Thisway,materialcanbespreadin the auger tunnel while conveyors are notrunning.
