The mission of NAMI DKK is to provide support, education and advocacy for persons, family members and communities dealing with mental health issues.

◦Our evening group is every Wednesday at Presence Mercy Hospital in Aurora 6:30pm – 8pm

◦Our daytime group is every Thursday

at AID in Aurora 2pm to 3:30pm

◦Free of charge◦Led by NAMI-trained facilitators living

in recovery

◦Promotes early intervention & treatment◦This program is presented by a family

member, a recovery speaker and a professional

◦Information line for callers seeking support, education and advocacy resources

◦Calls are taken by trained volunteers in the NAMI office Monday – Thursday 9am to 12pm

◦All other calls are answered within 24 hours

AdvocacyTAC – Kane County

◦Treatment Alternative Court◦Created to serve defendants living

with mental illness, co-occurring disorders or developmental disabilities, who come into contact with the judicial system

AdvocacyCIT (Crisis Intervention Training)

◦ Program designed to train law enforcement officers to effectively manage calls involving individuals suffering with biological brain disorders

Kane County Mental Health Protocol◦ Protocol that guides the response of law enforcers,

the legal system and caregivers to people with mental illness who are in crisis
