Blacktown City Council Trees
Thank you to all our parents who
have signed over their trees to us.
We have over 140 trees to collect
from the council nursery
courtesy of the generosity of
parents at our school.
These trees and shrubs will be
planted in the garden surrounding the new fixed
equipment and the preschool.

Gymnastics Report
On Monday 28th
May, I was
privileged enough to watch Jack Hall
(5/6M) compete with the NSW squad
in the 2012 U13 Australian
Gymnastics Championships at Sydney Olympic Park
Sports Centre.
Jack was competing with other talented NSW
gymnasts in 6 apparatus - parallel bars, pummel,
floor, rings, vault and high bars against the other
Australian states and territories and New Zealand. I
was amazed at the level of maturity Jack displayed
during the competition, remaining focused and
determined during the 3 hours of competition. He
obtained some excellent scores particularly on the
rings and horizontal bars – his 2 major strengths.
Jack is extremely dedicated to his sport – training 6
mornings a week before coming to school. His mum
and dad are just as committed to Jack’s gymnastics,
taking him to and from training and competitions and
supporting him to achieve his dream of one day
representing Australia.
At the close of the 2nd
and final day of competition
Jack had been selected as the sole Australian
representative in the Trans-Atlantic Challenge – an
incredible feat. Well done Jack. You have done
yourself, your family and your school proud.

Fundraising - Mufti Day and Big Afternoon Tea
The SRC is organising a Mufti Day at MDPS next
Tuesday June 5th 2012 to raise money for one of our
families who has lost all their possessions in a fire at
their block of units.
We ask students to wear warm casual clothes and
bring a gold coin as a donation.
Morning tea will be available for students to purchase
at 11.15am – 11.45am. We ask that each family
donate a cake, plate of biscuits or savoury snack. It
would be appreciated if afternoon items are cut up
ready to serve. Could you also label plates for ease of
return. The afternoon tea items can be left in the
Support Room.

Dear Gary
Just a quick letter to thank you and to acknowledge the recent and kind donation of a set of rugby league jerseys
for our students at Mount Druitt Public from your club.
We were in the unfortunate situation of playing “skins versus shirts” before the arrival of the jumpers and you
can guess the relief and satisfaction from both the coach and players involved when your club’s donation
arrived on the scene.
We will certainly put these to good use and on behalf of our school’s community, I would like to thank you and
St. Marys Leagues Club for once again coming to our aid.
It was both timely and very much appreciated.
Kindest regards
